Normal Subsystems of Fusion Systems

open access: yes, 2010
In this article we prove that for any saturated fusion system, that the (unique) smallest weakly normal subsystem of it on a given strongly closed subgroup is actually normal.

On Groups with Extreme Centralizers and Normalizers [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in Group Theory and Applications, 2016
An FCI-group is a group in which every non-normal cyclic subgroup has finite index in its centralizer and an FNI-group is one in which every non-normal subgroup has finite index in its normalizer.

Gut microbiota diversity is prognostic in metastatic hormone receptor‐positive breast cancer patients receiving chemotherapy and immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this exploratory study, we investigated the relationship between the gut microbiota and outcome in patients with metastatic hormone receptor‐positive breast cancer, treated in a randomized clinical trial with chemotherapy alone or chemotherapy in combination with immune checkpoint blockade.

The differential diagnosis of Class III malocclusion in adolescents of Mosul city [PDF]

open access: yesAl-Rafidain Dental Journal, 2006
Aim: To evaluate the differential diagnosis of Angle Class III malocclusion in adolescents of Mosul city. Materials and Methods: A sample of 170 Iraqi subjects aged 12–15 years, 85 subjects with Class III malocclusion (42 males and 43 females) were ...

Predictors of response and rational combinations for the novel MCL‐1 inhibitor MIK665 in acute myeloid leukemia

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study characterizes the responses of primary acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patient samples to the MCL‐1 inhibitor MIK665. The results revealed that monocytic differentiation is associated with MIK665 sensitivity. Conversely, elevated ABCB1 expression is a potential biomarker of resistance to the treatment, which can be overcome by the combination ...

Plasma extrachromosomal circular DNA as a biomarker in EGFR‐targeted therapy of non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Detection of extrachromosomal circular DNA (eccDNA) in plasma samples from EGFR‐mutated non‐small cell lung cancer patients. Plasma was collected before and during treatment with the EGFR‐tyrosine kinase inhibitor osimertinib. Plasma eccDNA was detected in all cancer samples, and the presence of the EGFR gene on eccDNA serves as a potential biomarker ...

Improving PARP inhibitor efficacy in bladder cancer without genetic BRCAness by combination with PLX51107

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Clinical trials on PARP inhibitors in urothelial carcinoma (UC) showed limited efficacy and a lack of predictive biomarkers. We propose SLFN5, SLFN11, and OAS1 as UC‐specific response predictors. We suggest Talazoparib as the better PARP inhibitor for UC than Olaparib.

Normalizers and self-normalizing subgroups

open access: yesGlasnik matematicki, 2011
Let $\mathbb K$ be a field of characteristic $\neq 2$. Suppose $G=\boldsymbol{; ; G}; ; (\mathbb K)$ is the group of $\mathbb K$-points of a reductive algebraic $\mathbb K$-group $\boldsymbol{; ; G}; ; $. Let $G_1\leq G$ be the group of $\mathbb K$-points of a reductive subgroup $\boldsymbol{; ; G}; ; _1\leq \boldsymbol{; ; G}; ; $.

Class IIa HDACs forced degradation allows resensitization of oxaliplatin‐resistant FBXW7‐mutated colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
HDAC4 is degraded by the E3 ligase FBXW7. In colorectal cancer, FBXW7 mutations prevent HDAC4 degradation, leading to oxaliplatin resistance. Forced degradation of HDAC4 using a PROTAC compound restores drug sensitivity by resetting the super‐enhancer landscape, reprogramming the epigenetic state of FBXW7‐mutated cells to resemble oxaliplatin ...
