Testing Transformations to Normality

open access: yesJournal of the Royal Statistical Society Series B: Statistical Methodology, 1973
Summary Andrews's exact test for the value of the parameter in the Box and Cox parameteric family of transformations is compared with two tests derived from the likelihood function. These two tests are shown, for a numerical example, to be uniformly more powerful than the exact test.

Crosstalk between the ribosome quality control‐associated E3 ubiquitin ligases LTN1 and RNF10

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of the E3 ligase LTN1, the ubiquitin‐like modifier UFM1, or the deubiquitinating enzyme UFSP2 disrupts endoplasmic reticulum–ribosome quality control (ER‐RQC), a pathway that removes stalled ribosomes and faulty proteins. This disruption may trigger a compensatory response to ER‐RQC defects, including increased expression of the E3 ligase RNF10 ...

Analysis of power of the classical and robust normality tests against bimodal distribution

open access: yesActa Universitatis Agriculturae et Silviculturae Mendelianae Brunensis, 2009
The aim of this paper is to compare the power of selected normality tests to detect a bimodal distribution. We use some classical normality tests (the Shapiro-Wilk test, the Lilliefors test, the Anderson-Darling test, the classical Jarque-Bera test and ...

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Using of correlation and distribution tests for efficiency testing of the Czech capital market

open access: yesActa Universitatis Agriculturae et Silviculturae Mendelianae Brunensis, 2009
This paper deals with efficiency testing of the Czech stock market. In this work there are defined different forms of efficiency, whereas key attention is focused on the weak-form of market efficiency.

Angular similarity in test parameters

open access: yesMethodological Innovations, 2021
Through N -dimensional person space, the article gives measures of test parameters and item statistics, including difficulty/discriminating value of test, correlations between a pair of items, and item-total correlations with binary items using angular ...

Function‐driven design of a surrogate interleukin‐2 receptor ligand

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Interleukin (IL)‐2 signaling can be achieved and precisely fine‐tuned through the affinity, distance, and orientation of the heterodimeric receptors with their ligands. We designed a biased IL‐2 surrogate ligand that selectively promotes effector T and natural killer cell activation and differentiation. Interleukin (IL) receptors play a pivotal role in

Multiple ETS family transcription factors bind mutant p53 via distinct interaction regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mutant p53 gain‐of‐function is thought to be mediated by interaction with other transcription factors. We identify multiple ETS transcription factors that can bind mutant p53 and found that this interaction can be promoted by a PXXPP motif. ETS proteins that strongly bound mutant p53 were upregulated in ovarian cancer compared to ETS proteins that ...

POSSIBILITIES TO EVALUATE THE QUALITY OF EDUCATION BY VERIFYING THE DISTRIBUTION OF MARKS [PDF]

open access: yesFiabilitate şi Durabilitate, 2015
In the higher education, for the evaluation of education process it is of high interest to use some numeric indicators obtained from the database with the final results realized by the students on exams session.
