Weak Normality and Related Properties

Canadian Journal of Mathematics, 1970
In [5], Zenor stated the definition of weakly normal. In the main, since weak normality does not imply either normality or regularity, various properties related to either normality or regularity will be considered in the context of weak normality.Throughout this paper the word “space” will mean topological space.

On the normalization in Nested Relational Databases

1989
In this paper, we address the problem of designing a database with nested relations with respect to semantic integrity constraints. The semantic integrity constraints we consider are functional and multivalued dependencies. We define a normal form for nested relations, called nested normal form, utilizing the functional and multivalued dependencies ...

The Skew-Normal and Related Families

2013
Interest in the skew-normal and related families of distributions has grown enormously over recent years, as theory has advanced, challenges of data have grown, and computational tools have made substantial progress. This comprehensive treatment, blending theory and practice, will be the standard resource for statisticians and applied researchers ...

Normalization in a Rough Relational Database

2005
The rough relational database model was developed for the management of uncertainty in relational databases. In this paper we discuss rough functional dependencies and the normalization process used with them. Normalization is an important part of the relational database design process and rough normalization provides similar benefits for the rough ...

The normalized recall and related measures

Proceedings of the 6th annual international ACM SIGIR conference on Research and development in information retrieval - SIGIR '83, 1983
The normalized recall is one of the most popular evaluation measures for information retrieval systems. In this paper an overview of its development is given. It is then shown that the normalized recall is closely related to other measures such as the CRE-measure and the expected search length. Some implications are analysed.

On Row Differential Inequalities Related to Normality and Quasi-normality

Computational Methods and Function Theory
The aim of the paper is to give new necessary conditions of normality and quasi-normality of families of functions in terms of differential inequalities. The main results are the following Theorem 2.3. Let \(C>0\), \(k \in \mathbb{N}\), and let \(a_0(z), \ldots, a_{k-1}(z)\) be fixed holomorphic functions in a domain \(D\). Then the family \(\mathcal{F}

Normally conjugative relations

Asian-European Journal of Mathematics, 2016
In this paper, the concept of normally conjugative relations on sets is introduced. A characterizations of this relations is obtained. In addition, particulary, we show when the anti-order relation [Formula: see text] is normally conjugative. Besides, the concept of finitely normal conjugative relations is introduced and analyzed.

Deductive normal forms of relations

1986
The "normalization" of relations is one of the most important tools for database design. The concept of special kinds of dependencies has been proved to be useful in the design and analysis of relational databases. By using this concept, a new ("deductive") normal form of relational databases is defined.

A new normal form for nested relations

ACM Transactions on Database Systems, 1987
We consider nested relations whose schemes are structured as trees, called scheme trees, and introduce a normal form for such relations, called the nested normal form. Given a set of attributes U , and a set of multivalued dependencies (MVDs) M over these attributes, we present an algorithm ...
