The Effect of Limiting upon the Mean Cross Section of Log-Normal Radar Clutter

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 1973
A log-normal variate is described by its median value and by the standard deviation of In(?c/?m), where ?c is the variate and ?m is its median value. For radar applications, the mean value of the variate is useful, and this correspondence derives the effect upon the mean value of various degrees of limiting.

Normalized back scattering radar cross section of tropical rain forest in Rondonia, northern Brazil

Advances in Space Research, 1997
Abstract Taking an advantage of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) on board Japanese Earth Resources Satellite-1 (JERS-1) in capability of observing land surfaces through clouds, an attempt is made to extract deforested areas of tropical rain forests in Rondonia, Brazil.
