SAR Image Generation of Ocean Surface Using Time-Divided Velocity Bunching Model [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Korean Institute of Electromagnetic Engineering and Science, 2019
An efficient synthetic aperture radar (SAR) image formulation based on the velocity-bunching model is proposed for a large SAR image integration time. A time-varying ocean surface is generated based on the semi-empirical spectrum proposed by Fung and Lee.

Dependence of the normalized radar cross section of water waves on Bragg wavelength-wind speed sensitivity [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 1996
Measurements of the normalized radar cross section (/spl sigma//spl deg/) made by the YSCAT ultrawideband scatterometer during an extended deployment on the Canada Centre for Inland Waters (CCIW) Research Tower located at Lake Ontario are analyzed and compared with anemometer wind measurements to study the sensitivity of /spl sigma//spl deg/ to the ...

QuikSCAT normalized radar cross section noise characterization for coastal wind field retrieval : OSI VS20 03

open access: yes, 2021
30 pages, 10 figuresAn assessment of the noise affecting the QuikSCAT Normalized Radar Cross Sections (σ0s) is carried out in this study. The estimation of Kp ( ˆKp) is compared to the median of the Kp values ( ̃Kp) provided in the Level 1B Full ...

Sea Wind Measurement by Doppler Navigation System with X-Configured Beams in Rectilinear Flight

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2017
We suggest a conceptual approach to the measurement of the near-surface wind vector over water using a Doppler navigation system, in addition to its standard navigation capabilities. We consider a Doppler navigation system with a track-stabilized antenna

Retrieval of the two-dimensional slope field by the SWIM spectrometer of the CFOSAT satellite: discussion of the algorithm

open access: yesRussian Journal of Earth Sciences, 2022
In October 2018, the Chinese-French satellite CFOSAT was launched into low-earth orbit, which carries the French SWIM spectrometer and the Chinese scatterometer RFSCAT. The SWIM (Ku-band) spectrometer measures the normalized radar cross section (NRCS) at

Normalized Radar Scattering Section Simulation and Numerical Calculation of Freak Wave

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering, 2022
The improved phase modulation method is used to numerically simulate a two-dimensional freak wave. While generating freak waves at specific positions, the spectral structure of the target spectrum can also be maintained, and the statistical ...

Reservoir‐Driven Neuromorphic Computing Based on Composite Rare‐Earth/Transition Metal Oxide Memristor

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A defect‐engineered Ag/Gd2O3:Nb2O5/Pt rare earth composite oxide memristor enables stable multilevel reservoir states through pulse driven conductance modulation. Experimentally measured device responses are incorporated into a device aware reservoir computing framework for CIFAR‐100 image classification, highlighting the potential of rare earth ...

Electrolyte Design for Fast‐Charging Lithium‐Based Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A decade of progress in fast‐charging electrolytes for lithium batteries is reviewed. Electrolyte design strategies spanning solvents, salts, additives, and advanced systems, such as localized high‐concentration electrolytes (LHCEs), are summarized. Advanced diagnostic tools for lithium plating and interphase chemistry are discussed, with perspectives ...
