Key Physicochemical Parameters Influencing Reactive Species in Plasma‐Processed‐Air (PPA) Originated From Microwave Discharge

open access: yesPlasma Processes and Polymers, Volume 23, Issue 1, January 2026.
NO, NO2 and N2O4 were identified in plasma processed air (PPA) by FTIR spectroscopy. NO2 was the dominant long‐living specie with maximum concentration of 10 520 ppm. Critical flowrate is 1.5 SLM for the maximum NOx concentration. A prediction model of NOx generation was made based on specific input energy (SIE).

UV disinfection of human norovirus: evaluating infectivity using a genome-wide PCR-based approach.

open access: yesEnvironmental Science and Technology, 2020
The removal and inactivation of infectious human norovirus is a major focus in water purification, but its fate through disinfection treatment processes is largely unknown owing to the lack of a readily available infectivity assay.

No evidence of an increase in the incidence of norovirus gastroenteritis hospitalizations in young children after the introduction of universal rotavirus immunization in Israel

open access: yesHuman Vaccines & Immunotherapeutics, 2019
Following the introduction of universal immunization against rotavirus, concerns were raised regarding pathogen-replacement of rotavirus by norovirus. The study aim was to examine the incidence and characteristics and norovirus gastroenteritis before and

Norovirus compared to other relevant etiologies of acute gastroenteritis among families from a semirural county in Chile

open access: yesInternational Journal of Infectious Diseases, 2020
Objective: To determine the dynamics of norovirus disease, a major cause of acute gastroenteritis (AGE), compared to other relevant etiologies, among families living in a lower middle income area.

Detecção de rotavírus e norovírus na população idosa na cidade de Caxias do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil, de 2010 a 2012 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Aims: Rotavirus (RV) and norovirus (NoV) are the most common cause of diarrhea in children aged less than five years throughout the world. However, RV and NoV have frequently been overlooked as pathogens in elderly individuals.

Depuração e tratamento térmico para redução dos níveis de patógenos em moluscos bivalves produzidos em Santa Catarina, Brasil [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
This review summarises the findings of studies, conducted in Santa Catarina State (SC), on the reduction of pathogens in mollusks via post-harvest treatments. Studies indicate that 48h depuration cycles can efficiently reduce the levels of Salmonella and

Norovirus infection results in eIF2α independent host translation shut-off and remodels the G3BP1 interactome evading stress granule formation

open access: yesPLoS Pathogens, 2020
Viral infections impose major stress on the host cell. In response, stress pathways can rapidly deploy defence mechanisms by shutting off the protein synthesis machinery and triggering the accumulation of mRNAs into stress granules to limit the use of ...

Static and Evolving Norovirus Genotypes: Implications for Epidemiology and Immunity

open access: yesPLoS Pathogens, 2017
Noroviruses are major pathogens associated with acute gastroenteritis worldwide. Their RNA genomes are diverse, with two major genogroups (GI and GII) comprised of at least 28 genotypes associated with human disease.
