Noroviruses — Challenges to Control

New England Journal of Medicine, 2007
Norovirus infections are worldwide in distribution and affect all age groups. Dr. Raphael Dolin writes that the biologic, physicochemical, and epidemiologic features of noroviruses present a serious challenge for infection control.

Broad range RT-PCR assays targeting human noroviruses also detect swine noroviruses

Food Microbiology, 2009
Conventional broad range RT-PCR and real time RT-PCR assays designed to detect human noroviruses (NoVs) also efficiently detect swine NoVs. Investigation of the primers and probe binding sites revealed strong homologies between swine NoVs genomic sequences and human primer sequences.

Analysis of GII.P7 and GII.6 noroviruses circulating in Italy during 2011-2016 reveals a replacement of lineages and complex recombination history.

Infection, Genetics and Evolution, 2019
Noroviruses are important human enteric pathogens and monitoring their genetic diversity is important for epidemiological surveillance, vaccine development, and understanding of RNA viruses evolution.

Molecular Detection and Genotyping of Noroviruses

Food and Environmental Virology, 2012
Noroviruses (NoVs) are a major cause of gastroenteritis worldwide in humans and animals and are known as very infectious viral agents. They are spread through feces and vomit via several transmission routes involving person-to-person contact, food, and water.

Comparison between RT droplet digital PCR and RT real-time PCR for quantification of noroviruses in oysters.

Journal of food microbiology, 2018
Oysters are frequently associated with norovirus outbreaks, but the presence of norovirus RNA in oysters does not necessarily imply a health risk to humans.

Noroviruses, Sapoviruses, and Astroviruses

2014
Acute gastroenteritis (AGE) is among the most common diseases of humankind affecting people of all ages but particularly children and the elderly. In developing countries, AGE remains one of the most important causes of death in children. In decades past, the etiology of the majority of cases of AGE remained unidentified. More recently, improvements in

[Development of noroviruses].

Wei sheng wu xue bao = Acta microbiologica Sinica, 2009
Noroviruses (NVs) were one of the new borne viruses, which was found firstly in the Unit States of America in 1972 and reported in China in 1995. The main food-borne viral pathogens affect people badly and cause the epidemic acute gastroenteritis in all kinds of people.
