The present-day geothermal regime of the North Jiangsu Basin, East China
Geothermics, 2020Abstract Heat flow and thermal state complement seismic information and provide strong constraints on the thickness, geophysical properties, and tectonic evolution of the lithosphere. The North Jiangsu Basin (NJB) is located in the Lower Yangtze Craton as a wedge block of ancient plate boundary-adjacent to the southeast corner of the North China ...

AbstractChemical analysis of groundwater in petroliferous basins can be an effective way to determine the regional hydrogeological regime and to evaluate the preservation conditions of hydrocarbons. This paper presents the hydrochemical distribution of both individual aquifers and different structural units within the Palaeogene strata of the Gaoyou ...

Large quantities of immature and low‐maturity oil have been discovered in the North Jiangsu Basin, East China. Intense tectonic activity and the differential accumulation of immature oils during the Palaeogene have resulted in reservoir rocks which have variable sedimentary and diagenetic characteristics.

Origin, distribution, and evolution of salt-fresh groundwater in North Jiangsu Basin, China
Environmental Geology and Water Sciences, 1988Connate saltwaters are contained within the upper Pleistocene and overlying sediments. The high salinity of phreatic water and subsoil has significant effects on the development of industry and agriculture in the area. This articie is a report on conditions of the salt-fresh ground-water in the North Jiangsu Basin (NJB), China.
