Systematic Literature Review of Role of Noroviruses in Sporadic Gastroenteritis

open access: yesEmerging Infectious Diseases, 2008
We conducted a systematic review of studies that used reverse transcription–PCR to diagnose norovirus (NoV) infections in patients with mild or moderate (outpatient) and severe (hospitalized) diarrhea. NoVs accounted for 12% (95% confidence interval [CI]

Catheter Injectable Multifunctional Biomaterial for the Treatment of Infected Enterocutaneous Fistulas

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 20, May 29, 2025.
A multi‐functional shear‐thinning hydrogel is engineered to treat enterocutaneous fistulas. This hydrogel can resist external pressures allowing it to remain within the fistula tract and is shown to have significant antimicrobial, pro‐healing, and anti‐inflammatory properties, which were validated in in vitro and in vivo experiments.

Secoviridae: a proposed family of plant viruses within the order Picornavirales that combines the families Sequiviridae and Comoviridae, the unassigned genera Cheravirus and Sadwavirus, and the proposed genus Torradovirus [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The order Picornavirales includes several plant viruses that are currently classified into the families Comoviridae (genera Comovirus, Fabavirus and Nepovirus) and Sequiviridae (genera Sequivirus and Waikavirus) and into the unassigned genera Cheravirus ...

Evidence for human norovirus infection of dogs in the United kingdom. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Human noroviruses (HuNoVs) are a major cause of viral gastroenteritis, with an estimated 3 million cases per year in the United Kingdom. HuNoVs have recently been isolated from pet dogs in Europe (M. Summa, C.-H. von Bonsdorff, and L.

Deep sequencing of norovirus genomes defines evolutionary patterns in an urban tropical setting. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
UNLABELLED: Norovirus is a highly transmissible infectious agent that causes epidemic gastroenteritis in susceptible children and adults. Norovirus infections can be severe and can be initiated from an exceptionally small number of viral particles ...

5’ and 3’ untranslated regions strongly enhance performance of geminiviral replicons in Nicotiana benthamiana leaves

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2016
We previously reported a recombinant protein production system based on a geminivirus replicon that yields high levels of vaccine antigens and monoclonal antibodies in plants.
