A Huaxian Formula Nanoformulation Confers Protection Against Acute Radiation‐Induced Lung Injury by Targeting Ferroptosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An inhalable, nanoengineered herbal therapy achieves protection against acute radiation‐induced lung injury via self‐assembled nanomicelle‐mediated pulmonary targeting and a previously unrecognized dual mechanism that attenuates oxidative stress while inhibiting ferroptosis in alveolar epithelial cells.

TNAP and PHOSPHO1 Function Synergistically to Afford Critical Control Over the Mineralization of the Postnatal Murine Skeleton

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Biomineralization underpins skeletal development, yet its molecular control remains incompletely understood. Using a novel murine knockout model, this study reveals the essential and complementary roles of PHOSPHO1 and TNAP in postnatal skeletal development.

Intranasal budesonide in children affected by persistent allergic rhinitis and its effect on nasal patency and nasal obstruction symptom evaluation (NOSE) score

open access: yes, 2015
BACKGROUND:Intranasal steroids are recognized as an effective treatment for allergic rhinitis (AR) although their effect on nasal patency has never been evaluated with an objective instrument such as anterior rhinomanometry in children.

Fumarate Hydratase Lactylation Exacerbates Traumatic Brain Injury Pathology via Mitochondrial Dysfunction and Neuroinflammation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Tian et al. reveal that FH K112 lactylation is elevated after TBI, leading to fumarate accumulation, mitochondrial damage, mtDNA release and amplified neuroinflammation. AARS2 and SIRT3 act as the “writer” and “eraser” for FH K112 lactylation. The peptide Pep‐K112 targeting this site alleviates brain injury, highlighting a potential therapeutic target.

Structural Restoration of the Empty Nose: A Quantitative Case Report on Post-Infectious Saddle Nose Deformity Using Autologous Sixth Costal Cartilage [PDF]

open access: yes
Background: Septal abscess represents a catastrophic failure of the nasal structural framework, often resulting in rapid ischemic necrosis of the quadrangular cartilage and a severe saddle nose deformity.

A 3D‐Printed SFE‐Graded Alloy Mitigates Cryogenic Discontinuous Plastic Flow and Hydrogen Embrittlement

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel strategy features gradient composition and stacking fault energy‐tuned (CoCrMn)100‐2xFexNix fabricated via in situ alloying additive manufacturing. This design circumvents cryogenic discontinuous plastic flow and hydrogen embrittlement of metallic materials under quasi‐static loading and hydrogen‐rich environment relevant to lunar polar ...

An Extracellular Pore‑Targeting Peptide Defines a Designable Allosteric Site in TRPV2

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Structure‐guided peptide engineering yields Depiv2, a highly potent and subtype‐selective TRPV2 inhibitor that binds to the extracellular pore and remodels it into a closed, non‐conductive state. Depiv2 suppresses pathological cardiac hypertrophy, establishing the TRPV2 outer pore as a designable interface for selective peptide modulation.

Printing‐Assisted Integration of Thermal, Fluidic and Electrical Components in Implants for Focal Brain Cooling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Extrusion‐based 3D printing of silicones and discrete electronic components are combined to create cortical implants for rodents that integrate thermal neuromodulation and electrical recording. Linked to an autonomous auxiliary driver unit, the system enables rapid, stable and localized hypothermia alongside ECoG recording.
