Bacterial Profiling and Antibiotic Resistance Pattern of Uropathogens Isolated From Adolescent Girls With Bacteriuria: A Cross‐Sectional Study

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 9, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are prevalent among adolescent girls. Therefore, effective promotional campaigns are crucial for conveying accurate information. This study aimed to assess the prevalence and the antimicrobial profiling of the isolated uropathogens among 354 adolescent girls. Methods This is a cross‐sectional

Knowledge, Attitudes, Practices, and Associated Factors of Healthcare Workers Toward Hepatitis B Post‐Exposure Prophylaxis in Ethiopia: A Cross‐Sectional Study

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 9, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection remains a major occupational hazard for healthcare workers (HCWs), particularly in low‐resource settings. Timely and appropriate post‐exposure prophylaxis (PEP) is essential to prevent HBV transmission following occupational exposure; however, its effective use depends largely on healthcare workers’

Delayed Pulmonary Metastasis of Basal Cell Carcinoma 10 Years After Primary Excision: A Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesCase Reports in Medicine
Conclusion: This case highlights the potential for delayed pulmonary metastasis in BCC, even years after apparently curative treatment. The absence of local recurrence and the bilateral lung involvement suggest hematogenous spread.

Glycemic Variability as a Predictor of Mortality in Sepsis Patients With Concurrent Persistent Inflammation, Immunosuppression, and Catabolism Syndrome

open access: yesImmunity, Inflammation and Disease, Volume 14, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Sepsis is a life‐threatening condition caused by infection, which triggers dysregulated systemic inflammatory responses. Among sepsis patients, those who concurrently develop persistent inflammation, immunosuppression, and catabolism syndrome (PICS) have a significantly poorer prognosis.

The Polymerase Chain Reaction Combined With Quantum Dot Fluorescence Analysis Method for Rapid Detection of Multiple Urinary Tract Infection Pathogens in Children

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Laboratory Analysis, Volume 40, Issue 6, March 2026.
In this study, we developed a novel pathogen detection platform by combining PCR technology with quantum dot fluorescence materials, aiming to improve the speed and accuracy of urinary tract infection (UTI) pathogen detection. We collected 294 clinical samples to evaluate the performance of the platform.

Incidence of Cholangitis in Post‐Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP): A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesJGH Open, Volume 10, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) is a procedure that combines x‐ray and upper gastrointestinal (GI) endoscopy for diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic and biliary diseases. Cholangitis is the main infectious complication after ERCP surgery.

Nanozyme Aptasensor Array for Predictive Sensing of Virulent and Antibiotic‐Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus strains

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 15, 12 March 2026.
An array‐based nanozyme‐aptamer platform for rapid, colorimetric fingerprinting of Staphylococcus aureus strains is reported. By combining differential aptamer dissociation with pattern‐recognition analysis, the sensor achieves strain‐level discrimination, infers virulence, and predicts the identification of previously unencountered strains, offering a
