IEEE Antennas and Propagation Magazine, 1998
After a brief comment on the work by Chen et al. (IEEE Transactions on Education, vol.41, no.1, p.61-9, February 1998), the author suggests a vector notation system for the electromagnetics community. The concepts of gradient, divergence and curl together with matrix operators are discussed.

Complex Notation in Flutter Analysis
Journal of Structural Engineering, 1999Flutter analysis in aircraft or bridge engineering has to include motion-induced aerodynamic forces. These forces are mathematically described in two equivalent ways, namely, by real number or complex number expressions. Accordingly, flutter analysis can be performed using either real or complex arithmetic.

Notational Analysis for Rugby Football
2014Sports notational analysis is the systematic recoding and interpretation of a performance, with the intent of reducing the subjectivity and bias, inherent in human observation. The detail of this analysis is remarkable and yet there is scant evidence of any other rugby analyses, at this level, in the subsequent 75 years.

Language verbalising notation: an intersemiotic analysis of musical notation in student texts
Journal Multimodal Communication, 2012AbstractMusic notation is a fundamental tool for conveying meanings in music and its interaction with verbal language provides valuable insight into musical discourse. The acquisition of both linguistic and notational literacy is important for the academic success of music students who must demonstrate their knowledge and ground their practise through ...

Fundamental Notations in Analysis of Algorithms
2014This chapter lays the foundation of the analysis of algorithms theory in terms of the big-oh, omega, and theta notations. It also covers the related topics of the little-oh and asymptotic functions. The chapter contains formal definitions of these notations, examples of how they are proved, and theorems connecting these notations to each other ...

A Developmental Analysis of Notational Counting
Child Development, 1977SAXE, GEOFFREY B. A Developmental Analysis of Notational Counting. CmLD DEVELOPMENT, 1977, 48, 1512-1520. The 2 studies of this report trace the child's acquisition of counting as a means to extract, compare, and reproduce number from arrays of objects. In study 1, 3-, 4-, and 7-year-olds' use of counting to compare and reproduce arrays numerically was
