2017Litter decomposition in two Nothofagus pumilio stands located in Magallanes Region (Chile) was studied during two years. One stand was a primary forest (SI), without silvicultural treatment, and the other had a regenerative felling under a shelterwood system (CR). Weight loss and litter decomposition rates were obtained with the litter-bag method.

Site requirements of lenga, Nothofagus pumilio
1994The natural geographical range for lenga, or Nothofagus pumilio (Poepp. et Endl.) Krasser, extends in South America from 36°50' to 56° south latitude. North of 43° S, lenga occurs discontinuously and always at treeline, while to the south, lenga is more continuous.
