Introducing Variable Stars Without Using Sophisticated Technology
Photographs of TV Cas and U Cep taken by students equipped with conventional cameras and mobile, self-made mountings are used to introduce variable stars and, in particular, eclipsing binaries.

Spontaneous Cyclic Levitation of Glycerol‐Water Droplets at Low Pressures
Under low pressure, a minute glycerol addition transforms the chaotic dynamics of freezing water droplets into cyclic levitation. Freeze‐concentration preserves liquid pathways that relax expansion‐induced stress, while freezing point depression weakens asymmetric vaporization recoil.

This study presents a comprehensive interfacial characterization of the biodegradable PCL solid‐polymer electrolytes (SPEs) with Li metal, utilizing an advanced operando ATR‐FTIR spectroscopy. The investigation elucidates the interphase properties during Li plating/stripping in a zero‐excess cell configuration.

Oxygen plasma treatment enhances polyimide hydrophilicity and promotes uniform anchoring of copper ion precursors. A one‐step laser process then generates CuO‐decorated nanoparticles on laser‐induced graphene (LIG) electrodes, enabling controlled nanoparticle growth via precursor concentration tuning.

EUVE J0854+390: a new Cataclysmic Variable [PDF]
We report the identification of a new CV in the field of EUVE J0854+390. The optical spectra show Balmer, He I and He II lines strongly in emission and indicates the source is a CV, probably magnetic.Information Bulletin on Variable Stars 5032(1).

Abstract Premise Climate change is altering the timing of many plant phenological events, yet most studies focus on flowering, with less attention given to later reproductive stages such as fruit development and ripening. Vaccinium angustifolium (lowbush blueberry) is an important perennial berry species that may be sensitive to these changes.

ABSTRACT Background The impact of presumptive coverage policies for work‐related mental health disorders has not been extensively studied to date. Using data from the Association of Workers’ Compensation Boards of Canada (AWCBC), our objectives were to describe the evolution of compensated mental health conditions, and to explore the association ...

Heterozygous Variants in LRP1 Cause a Neurodevelopmental Disorder With Congenital Heart Defects
ABSTRACT LRP1 encodes the low‐density lipoprotein (LDL) receptor‐related protein 1 (LRP1), a transmembrane protein involved in endocytosis and activation of multiple signaling pathways. LRP1 variants have been implicated in the pathogenesis of congenital heart defects (CHD), Alzheimer's disease, and neurodevelopmental disorders (NDD).

ABSTRACT Genetic modifiers of Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) that alter disease severity or response to therapy have been reported using natural history or registry data sets of older corticosteroid‐treated patients. We tested associations of genetic modifiers on motor function outcomes in young (4 to < 7 years) steroid naïve clinical trial ...
