Improving the thermal stability and dielectric properties of epoxy/phenolic resin type (novolac) composites by incorporating carbon nanofibers (CNFs)

open access: yesJournal of Nigerian Society of Physical Sciences
This study aims to enhance the thermal stability and dielectric properties of an epoxy/phenolic resin-type novolac blend by incorporating carbon nanofibers (CNFs). The EP/novolac-CNF composite was created by dispersing a 10% weight fraction of CNFs into

Elastic and acoustic properties determination of epoxy/polystyrene/nanoclay/red mud waste hybrid composites by ultrasonic method

open access: yesPolymer Composites, Volume 46, Issue 1, Page 930-948, 10 January 2025.
Epoxy/polystyrene/nanoclay/red mud waste hybrid composites and ultrasonic testing. Abstract Ultrasonic methods are more sensitive to defects such as voids, pores, and discontinuities that can diminish the true elastic and acoustic properties of materials compared to destructive testing.

The Rheology of Graphene Oxide Dispersions in Highly Viscous Epoxy Resin: The Anomalies in Properties as Advantages for Developing Film Binders

open access: yesLiquids
Graphene oxide (GO) has been successfully used as a filler to modify various properties of polymers and fiber-reinforced composites. The resulting properties depend on the filler content and on the distribution of GO in the polymer matrix.

Effect of Tetrapropylammonium Chloride Quaternary Ammonium Salt on Characterization, Cytotoxicity, and Antibacterial Properties of PLA/PEG Electrospun Mat

open access: yesBiopolymers, Volume 116, Issue 1, January 2025.
ABSTRACT In this study, poly(lactic acid) (PLA)–tetrapropylammonium chloride (TCL)–poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) nonwoven networks were produced using PLA, PEG with different concentrations (3, 5, 7, and 9 wt%), and TCL. PEG is included as a plasticizer in PLA polymer, which has high biocompatibility but a brittle structure.
