The Role of Fire Safety in Advancing United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: A Review
ABSTRACT Fire safety is an essential yet often overlooked component of sustainable development. As urbanization accelerates and climate‐related hazards intensify, integrating fire risk reduction into sustainability frameworks is becoming increasingly critical. This review employs a structured narrative methodology, synthesizing peer‐reviewed literature

Gold nanoparticles are prepared simultaneously with the formation of a polymer, whose growth is initiated by direct interaction of Au(III) with a vinyl‐type monomer. Nanoparticles produce stable, bioorthogonal SERS signal originating from an isonitrile/carbene‐type functionality covalently anchored to the gold surface.

This study investigates the potential for reducing emissions during the sintering process by selectively adjusting the O2, CO, and H2O content in the recirculation gas. Adjusting these components positively affects the sintering process, enabling the coke breeze content in the sinter mixture to be reduced.

The experiments and simulations demonstrate that, in general, alternative carbon sources can decrease fossil CO2 without adversely impacting EAF process and product. High plastics and tires ratios cause unsafe conditions and poor slag foaming. Hydrogen in EAF burners decreases CO2 but increases water vapor, which can raise the hydrogen content in ...

A defect‐rich TiO2−x nanolayer was simultaneously synthesized and nano‐anchored on a mesoporous bio‐silica (diatomite) through a rapid, low‐temperature atmospheric‐pressure plasma process in aqueous media. The optimized TiO2−x/bio‐silica composite (DE 700) exhibits oxygen vacancies, an anatase–rutile heterointerface, broad solar‐spectrum absorption ...

Most countries, including Japan, are focused on achieving net‐zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2050, which requires quick action. Despite the increasing level of renewable power generation in power grids, fossil fuel power plants still have a significant role in producing GHG emissions, causing serious environmental issues.

Nonthermal plasma approaches for combating implant‐associated infections: A compendious review
Implant‐associated infections pose serious clinical challenges. Non‐thermal plasma (NTP) modifications overcome this bottleneck in distinct ways relative to traditional sterilization methods. Gas‐phase plasmas generate highly energetic species, UV radiation and reactive oxygen/nitrogen species (RONS), which alter the implant surface properties.

Effecft of co‐doping polyaniline with phosphoric acid and phytic acid on the heat release rate of polyethylene. Abstract Polyolefins, such as polyethylene (PE), are highly flammable and electrically insulative, limiting their applicability. The study explored the flame‐retardancy and electrical conductivity of PE/polyaniline (PE/PANI) nanocomposites ...

The Role of Oxophilicity and Water for Coordination Complexes as Ammonia Stores
Exposing metal salts to humid ammonia leads to different products, which can be understood on the basis of the metal’s oxophilicity. Exposing copper vitriol to ammonia furthermore leads to the formation of single crystalline [Cu(H2O)(NH3)4]SO4 at ambient conditions.
