Contributions of aircraft emissions to the atmospheric NOx content
Atmospheric Environment, 1997Abstract The relative contribution of aircraft emissions to the total atmospheric NOx content is studied by means of the atmosphere general circulation model ECHAM, which was extended by a simplified (linear) NOx chemistry module with NOx and HNO3 as prognostic variables.

Nonlinear modeling of industrial boiler NOx emissions
Journal of the Air & Waste Management Association, 2022Pollutant emissions into the atmosphere are recognized as a significant problem in fossil fuel combustion. The pollution emission measurement in industrial boilers is difficult and expensive but fundamental for monitoring and controlling. Frequently continuous emissions monitoring (CEM) system is out of service or useless due to obsolescence, high ...

Computational investigation of NOx emission in biogas combustion
Environmental Science and Pollution Research, 2023Landfills and anaerobic digesters in the waste treatment processes generate biogas. Biogas can be used as a fuel and excess biogas is typically burned in a flare to reduce the greenhouse effect. However, burning biogas produces several pollutants, including CO2, NOx, and SO2.

Atmospheric dynamics of NOx emission controls
Science of The Total Environment, 1982Abstract Fundamental physical and chemical processes influencing the effectiveness of oxides of nitrogen (NO x ) air pollution controls are surveyed in this paper. Phenomenological descriptions are treated for some of the main features analyzed in recent research work.

On the road to NOx emissions trading
The Electricity Journal, 1995Abstract With costly emission reductions looming, a national trading program in SO 2 emissions as a precedent, and a climate of increasing acceptance of emissions trading, many states are now considering emissions trading a viable option. States should take decisive actions to develop innovative, least-cost programs for ozone reduction before the ...

NOx Emission in In-line Low-NOx Calciners - A Theoretical Study
International Journal of Chemical Reactor Engineering, 2003Abstract - The present contribution is a continuation of our endeavor in developing mathematical models for In-Line Low-NOx calciners. The objective of the present work is to obtain new information about NO formation and reduction in In-Line Low-NOx calciners.

Adaptive predictive control of combustor NOx emissions
Control Engineering Practice, 1999Abstract The design and implementation of an adaptive predictive controller for oxides of nitrogen (NOx) emissions from gas turbine combustors is considered in this paper. Predictive control techniques with both fixed and adaptive parameters are introduced.

Emission control of SO2 and NOx by irradiation methods
Journal of Hazardous Materials, 2003Microwave discharges at 2.45 GHz frequency and accelerated electron beams operated at atmospheric pressure in synthetic gas mixtures containing N(2), O(2), CO(2), SO(2), and NO(x) are investigated experimentally for various gas mixture constituents and operating conditions, with respect to their ability to purify exhaust gases. An original experimental

Emission of NOx from urine-treated pasture
Environmental Pollution, 1987Emission of NO(x) from urine-treated pasture was determined using a system of enclosures coupled to a chemiluminescence NO(x) analyser. Rates of emission ranged from 0 to 190 microg NO(x) - Nm(-2)h(-1), with a mean of 43 microg N m(-2) h(-1). The lowest rates were associated with periods of heavy or persistent rain.

Economic Impacts of Reducing NOx Emissions in Norway
Environmental and Resource Economics, 1997Using a multisector computable general equilibrium model for the Norwegian economy, the impacts on main macroeconomic indicators of reducing NOx emissions are analyzed. Seven specific technical measures regarding passenger cars, trucks, ships and industrial processes are studied.
