Wigner's Space-time Symmetries based on the Two-by-two Matrices of the Damped Harmonic Oscillators and the Poincar\'e Sphere

open access: yes, 2014
The second-order differential equation for a damped harmonic oscillator can be converted to two coupled first-order equations, with two two-by-two matrices leading to the group $Sp(2)$.

Cultural‐linguistic divergences in animal fluency performance between Korean‐ and English‐speaking older adults with Alzheimer's disease

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 21, Issue S4, December 2025.
Abstract Background Verbal fluency tasks reveal the influence of cultural‐linguistic backgrounds on word retrieval. A recent cross‐linguistic study on animal fluency in Korean‐ and English‐speaking individuals with stroke aphasia found that Korean‐speakers generated more zodiac animals rooted in East Asian‐culture than English‐speakers.

Causal Relationship Between Circulating Omega‐3 Fatty Acid and Cerebral Small Vessel Disease: A Mendelian Randomization Study

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 13, Issue 12, December 2025.
This Mendelian randomization study demonstrated that higher circulating omega‐3 fatty acid levels were causally associated with a modest reduction in risk of cerebral microbleeds (CMB). No significant associations were observed for other CSVD phenotypes, including WMH, LS, and WMPVS.

Iwasawa Effects in Multi-layer Optics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
There are many two-by-two matrices in layer optics. It is shown that they can be formulated in terms of a three-parameter group whose algebraic property is the same as the group of Lorentz transformations in a space with two space-like and one time-like ...

Dual-height Distribution of Ozone and Nitrogen Oxides during Summer in Urban Tianjin: An Observational Study

open access: yesAerosol and Air Quality Research, 2020
Measurements of gaseous pollutants, including ozone (O3) and nitrogen oxides (NOx), were simultaneously conducted at 220 m (via the installation of an air flow drainage system on a 255-m meteorological tower) and 3 m above the ground in urban Tianjin ...

Einstein's Hydrogen Atom

open access: yes, 2011
In 1905, Einstein formulated his special relativity for point particles. For those particles, his Lorentz covariance and energy-momentum relation are by now firmly established. How about the hydrogen atom?

Moduli spaces of stable pairs and non-abelian zeta functions of curves via wall-crossing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In this paper we study and relate the non-abelian zeta functions introduced by Weng and invariants of the moduli spaces of arbitrary rank stable pairs over curves.
