Analytical One-Dimensional Model of Drop Ejection from a Micro-Size Nozzle [PDF]
In this article, we construct a novel one-dimensional model of drop ejection from a micro-size nozzle due to a short pressure pulse applied to the liquid in the nozzle. The pressure pulse supplies the kinetic energy to the perturbed liquid-bulge squeezed from the nozzle, which then ballistically lengthens forming a ligament.

A dynamic model for current-based nozzle condition monitoring in fused deposition modelling
3D printing and particularly fused deposition modelling (FDM) is widely used for prototyping and fabricating low-cost customised parts. However, present fused deposition modelling 3D printers have limited nozzle condition monitoring techniques to ...

Simulation and experiment of abrasive flow finishing characteristics of nozzle jetting hole runner
When there is a certain inlet chamfer and nozzle taper at the inlet of the nozzle orifice passage, the efficiency of the engine can be further improved by improving the fuel atomization effect of the nozzle.

Expansion Waves at the Outlet of the Supersonic Two-Phase Flow Nozzle
Two-phase flow nozzles are used in the total flow system of geothermal power plants and in the ejector of the refrigeration cycle, etc. One of the most important functions of the two-phase flow nozzle is converting two-phase flow thermal energy into ...

A physical model for indirect noise in non-isentropic nozzles: Transfer functions and stability [PDF]
We propose a mathematical model from physical principles to predict the sound generated in nozzles with dissipation. The focus is on the sound generated from the acceleration of temperature inhomogeneities (also known as entropy waves), which is referred to as indirect noise.

Black hole acoustics in the minimal geometric deformation of a de Laval nozzle [PDF]
The correspondence between sound waves, in a de Laval propelling nozzle, and quasinormal modes emitted by brane-world black holes deformed by a 5D bulk Weyl fluid are here explored and scrutinized.

Similarity Law on Shedding Frequency of Cavitation Cloud Induced by a Cavitating Jet
In order to clarify the mechanism of cavitation cloud shedding, the shedding frequencies of cavitation clouds were investigated by high-speed observations and image analysis. The results indicate that the shedding frequency follows the similarity law for
