The TICTOP nozzle: a new nozzle contouring concept
CEAS Space Journal, 2016Currently, mainly two types of nozzle contouring methods are applied in space propulsion: the truncated ideal contour (TIC) and the thrust-optimized parabola (TOP). This article presents a new nozzle contouring method called TICTOP, combining elements of TIC and TOP design.

An analytical method is presented for the design of axisymmetric annular nozzles to yield uniform and axial flow. Computed results are used to display typical matched inner and outer contours, the effects of major initial flow variables, and the resulting wall forces.
