A SVPWM control strategy for NPC three-level inverter

2011 IEEE Power Engineering and Automation Conference, 2011
Based on six divided regions of space vectors, the potential position of the reference voltage vectors is firstly determined according to the principle of rotating vector normalization method. Then the effective time of three synthesized vectors is calculated by the principle of the volt-second balance principle.

The Research and Simulation of Three-Level NPC Inverter

2016
Compared with the commonly used sine-wave pulse width modulation (SPWM) method, the space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) method has higher utilization rate of DC voltage and smaller output waveform distortion. This paper describes the basic principle and control algorithm of three-level SVPWM.

Comparison of SVPWM and SPWM Schemes for NPC Multilevel Inverter

2020 IEEE International Students' Conference on Electrical,Electronics and Computer Science (SCEECS), 2020
The aim of this paper is to use Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation (SVPWM) technique and Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation (SPWM) technique to mathematically prove and compare the DC bus utilization for a Neutral Point Clamped (NPC) three level Inverter.

Transformerless interleaving multilevel NPC inverter for photovoltaic systems

2015 IEEE 13th Brazilian Power Electronics Conference and 1st Southern Power Electronics Conference (COBEP/SPEC), 2015
This paper proposes a transformerless multilevel NPC (Neutral Point Clamped) inverter for grid-connected photovoltaic systems, applying the concept of high power density, using Gallium Nitride power transistors and employing interleaving strategy for reducing the weight/volume of the passive filter elements.

A new approach to hysteresis modulation techniques for NPC inverters

Industrial Electronics, 2002. ISIE 2002. Proceedings of the 2002 IEEE International Symposium on, 2002
High power IGBT devices have improved their performances more and more over the last decade. However, the maximum supported voltage by available high-voltage IGBTs does not allow the employment of standard voltage source inverters in some high power applications, such as high-speed traction drives.

Comparative evaluation of three single-phase NPC inverters

2012 10th IEEE/IAS International Conference on Industry Applications, 2012
In this paper is presented a comparative evaluation in steady-state of three single-phase NPC multilevel inverters. The first is a five-level neutral point clamped (NPC) inverter based on multi-stage switching cell (MSSC); the second is also a five-level neutral point clamped (NPC) inverter based on interleaved cell (IC); and the third is a three-level

Fault Diagnosis of NPC Inverter Based on Multi-layer SVM

2012
This paper presents a fault diagnosis method to diagnose varieties of faults of neutral point clamped (NPC) inverter, including the open- circuit fault occurring in one single device or more devices. Because of the difficulties in isolating some fault modes, the upper, middle and down bridge voltages are adopted the test signals.

Optimization of SiC-Based H5 and Conergy-NPC Transformerless PV Inverters

IEEE Journal of Emerging and Selected Topics in Power Electronics, 2013
The transformerless dc/ac inverters are critical components in the rapidly growing market of grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) applications. They are synthesized by combining available solutions in terms of the power-section topology, power-semiconductors manufacturing technology, and structure of the output filter. In addition, the silicon carbide (SiC)

A NPC step-up inverter for thermo-electric generators

2015 International Conference on Clean Electrical Power (ICCEP), 2015
Among single stage, single phase, inverter configurations the Neutral Point Clamped topology is advantaged by its quiet rail switching mechanism, producing negligible common mode currents. However, it requires a double input voltage if compared with a classic full bridge inverter.
