Enhanced soft-switched T-type neutral-point clamped (T-NPC) inverter with reduced component number
Review of Scientific InstrumentsThis paper presents an enhanced soft-switched T-type neutral-point clamped inverter featuring a compact active snubber cell that delivers zero-voltage transition turn-on and zero-voltage switching (ZVS) turn-off for the main switches, while auxiliary switches operate with zero-current switching turn-on and ZVS turn-off.

A well-known problem of three-level neutral point clamped (NPC) inverter is the voltage imbalance in the dc-link capacitors. This paper proposes the dc-link capacitor voltage balancing method where a common offset voltage is injected. The offset voltage consists of a harmonic voltage and a magnitude difference between the upper and the lower capacitors.

This paper introduces a new fault-tolerant technique for three-phase three-level inverters based on sinusoidal pulse width modulation (SPWM). The existing fault-tolerant methods mainly depend on using space vector modulation (SVM) to utilize the redundant switching states at low modulation index.

This paper presents a novel DC-link voltage balancing algorithm for a 3-level DC/AC traction inverter drive. In this topology, two DC-link capacitor voltages and three-phase line currents are measured, to generate the control pulses for the traction inverter, based on space-vector pulse width modulation (SV-PWM) scheme.

This paper presents a performance comparison study between the proposed continuous- and discontinuous-hybrid-PWM (C-HPWM, D-HPWM) based techniques used for neutral point clamped (NPC) 3-level inverter. The H-PWM strategy uses both the advantages of carrier and space vector based PWM strategies.
