An Arctic Field Campaign Using Stratospheric Balloons for Micro‐Dropsonde Deployment: Insights and Evaluation

A 2025 field campaign, based in Iceland, successfully deployed micro‐dropsonde sensors from stratospheric balloons in the Arctic. Atmospheric profiles were retrieved from a variety of data‐sparse regions. The campaign demonstrates the feasibility and value of balloon‐borne systems for enhancing Arctic observation and forecasting capability.

Abstract Particle minibeam therapy (PMBT) has emerged as an advanced modality within spatially fractionated radiation therapy, using the physical properties of protons, ions, and electrons to achieve superior normal tissue sparing whilst preserving spatial dose distribution at depths that are unachievable in conventional kV or MV X‐rays.
