Integration of Carrier Aggregation and Dual Connectivity for the ns-3 mmWave Module

open access: yes, 2018
Thanks to the wide availability of bandwidth, the millimeter wave (mmWave) frequencies will provide very high data rates to mobile users in next generation 5G cellular networks.

Function‐driven design of a surrogate interleukin‐2 receptor ligand

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Interleukin (IL)‐2 signaling can be achieved and precisely fine‐tuned through the affinity, distance, and orientation of the heterodimeric receptors with their ligands. We designed a biased IL‐2 surrogate ligand that selectively promotes effector T and natural killer cell activation and differentiation. Interleukin (IL) receptors play a pivotal role in

An NS-NS basis for odd-parity couplings cm at order $$\alpha '^3$$ α ′ 3

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields
In this study, we thoroughly investigate the covariant and B-field gauge invariant odd-parity NS-NS couplings at order $$\alpha '^3,$$ α ′ 3 , while considering the removal of field redefinitions, Bianchi identities, and total derivative freedoms.

ns-3 Implementation of the 3GPP MIMO Channel Model for Frequency Spectrum above 6 GHz

open access: yes, 2017
Communications at mmWave frequencies will be a key enabler of the next generation of cellular networks, due to the multi-Gbps rate that can be achieved.

Can D-Branes Wrap Nonrepresentable Cycles? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Sometimes a homology cycle of a nonsingular compactification manifold cannot be represented by a nonsingular submanifold. We want to know whether such nonrepresentable cycles can be wrapped by D-branes.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Orbit Aware-Based Satellite Selection Method for Reducing Handover Frequency in LEO Satellite Networks

open access: yesIEEE Access
Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite networks, represented by Starlink, have rapidly advanced as communication solutions for unconnected regions and during disaster scenarios.

An empirical evaluation of link quality utilization in ETX routing for VANETs [PDF]

open access: yesPeerJ Computer Science
Routing in vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) enables vehicles to communicate for safety and non-safety applications. However, there are limitations in wireless communication that can degrade VANET performance, so it is crucial to optimize the operation ...

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...
