RepFlow: Minimizing Flow Completion Times with Replicated Flows in Data Centers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Short TCP flows that are critical for many interactive applications in data centers are plagued by large flows and head-of-line blocking in switches.

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Performance Evaluation of ns-3 Real-Time Emulation

open access: yesIEEE Access
With its real-time mode and tap-bridges, the network simulator ns-3 offers the possibility to integrate real applications or even hardware into a testbed in which ns-3 emulates the network topology. This eliminates the need to develop separate simulation

Kinematic Constraints and ns-3 Mobility Models [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the Workshop on ns-3 - 2017 WNS3, 2017
Recently there has been a renewed interest in ns-3 as a tool for Underwater Acoustic communications, with the integration of World Ocean Simulation System (WOSS, [4, 6]) into ns-3. However, the current implementation of ns-3 does not provide specific models suitable for AUVs (Autonomous Underwater Vehicles) mobility.

GDNF‐RET signaling drives pulmonary neuroendocrine cell hyperplasia and allergic airway inflammation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A neuroimmune interaction centered on the PNEC‐ILC2 axis in an asthma model. PNEC‐derived CGRP activates nearby ILC2s, which then release cytokines, including IL‐5 and IL‐13. These cytokines promote eosinophil and macrophage infiltration. Subsequently, GDNF produced by these cells induces PNEC hyperplasia via the GDNF receptors, RET and GFRα1 ...

Environment-Aware Rate Adaptation Based on Occasional Request and Robust Adjustment in 802.11 Networks

open access: yesSensors, 2023
The IEEE 802.11 standard provides multi-rate support for different versions. As there is no specification on the dynamic strategy to adjust the rate, different rate adaptation algorithms are applied according to different manufacturers.

Killing spinor equations in dimension 7 and geometry of integrable G_2-manifolds

open access: yes, 2001
We compute the scalar curvature of 7-dimensional ${G}_2$-manifolds admitting a connection with totally skew-symmetric torsion. We prove the formula for the general solution of the Killing spinor equation and express the Riemannian scalar curvature of the

ForChaos: Real Time Application DDoS detection using Forecasting and Chaos Theory in Smart Home IoT Network [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Recently, D/DoS attacks have been launched by zombie IoT devices in smart home networks. They pose a great threat to to network systems with Application Layer DDoS attacks being especially hard to detect due to their stealth and seemingly legitimacy.

The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.
