Neurotensin Phosphorylates GSK-3α/β through the Activation of PKC in Human Colon Cancer Cells

open access: yesNeoplasia: An International Journal for Oncology Research, 2006
Neurotensin (NT), a gastrointestinal hormone, binds its receptor [neurotensin receptor (NTR)] to regulate the growth of normal and neoplastic intestinal cells; molecular mechanisms remain largely undefined.

Equation of state for pure SU(3) gauge theory with renormalization group improved action [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
A lattice study of the equation of state for pure SU(3) gauge theory using a renormalization-group (RG) improved action is presented. The energy density and pressure are calculated on a $16^3\times 4$ and a $32^3\times 8$ lattice employing the integral ...

Intein‐based modular chimeric antigen receptor platform for specific CD19/CD20 co‐targeting

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CARtein is a modular CAR platform that uses split inteins to splice antigen‐recognition modules onto a universal signaling backbone, enabling precise, scarless assembly without re‐engineering signaling domains. Deployed here against CD19 and CD20 in B‐cell malignancies, the design supports flexible multi‐antigen targeting to boost T‐cell activation and

Effects of nuclease-treated fermentation product of Lactobacillus rhamnosus GCC-3 on growth, hepatic health and gut microbiota of zebrafish (Danio rerio) fed a high-fat diet

open access: yesAquaculture Reports, 2023
Probiotics are reported to improve the nutrition, immunity, and health of fish. Nuclease can hydrolyze nucleic acids of probiotics to produce nucleotides.

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Elucidating glycosaminoglycan–protein–protein interactions using carbohydrate microarray and computational approaches [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Glycosaminoglycan polysaccharides play critical roles in many cellular processes, ranging from viral invasion and angiogenesis to spinal cord injury.

Methylation biomarkers can distinguish pleural mesothelioma from healthy pleura and other pleural pathologies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed and validated a DNA methylation–based biomarker panel to distinguish pleural mesothelioma from other pleural conditions. Using the IMPRESS technology, we translated this panel into a clinically applicable assay. The resulting two classifier models demonstrated excellent performance, achieving high AUC values and strong diagnostic accuracy.

Construction of an acellular spinal cord scaffold with a novel NT-3 sustained-release system promotes the neural differentiation of BMSCs through the NT-3/TrkC pathway

open access: yesAIP Advances
In previous neural tissue engineering studies, we successfully constructed NT-3 cross-linked acellular spinal cord scaffolds (NT-3 cross-linked scaffolds), which can sustain the release of NT-3 and promote the differentiation of rat bone marrow ...

Synergistic Effects of Fe2O3 Nanotube/Polyaniline Composites for an Electrochemical Supercapacitor with Enhanced Capacitance

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2021
α-Fe2O3, which is an attractive material for supercapacitor electrodes, has been studied to address the issue of low capacitance through structural development and complexation to maximize the use of surface pseudocapacitance.

RDR6-mediated synthesis of complementary RNA is terminated by miRNA stably bound to template RNA [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
RNA-dependent RNA polymerase RDR6 is involved in the biogenesis of plant trans-acting siRNAs. This process is initiated by miRNA-directed and Argonaute (AGO) protein-mediated cleavage of TAS gene transcripts.
