Do Teachers' Labour Contracts Matter?

open access: yesOxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Previous literature on the effects of tenured and tenure‐track versus non‐tenure‐track professors on student performance at the university level finds mixed results. Our paper is the first to investigate whether student performance at school differs depending on whether tenured/tenure‐track or non‐tenure‐track teachers teach them.

Supernova 1994aj: a probe for pre-supernova evolution and mass loss from the progenitor [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
Extensive photometric and spectroscopic observations of SN1994aj until 540d after maximum light have been obtained. The photometry around maximum suggests that the SN belongs to the Type II Linear class, with a peak absolute magnitude of Mv ~ -17.8 ...

Improving Operator Depth Vision in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy: A Pilot Study of a New Three‐dimensional Imaging System

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 6, Issue 1, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and aims Traditional two‐dimensional (2D) gastrointestinal endoscopy lacks depth perception, leading to potential diagnostic errors. This study evaluates a novel software‐based three‐dimensional (3D) endoscopy system that converts 2D images into 3D, compatible with existing endoscopes.

Molecular crystal approach for pi-conjugated polymers: from PPP Hamiltonian to Holstein model for polaron states

open access: yes, 1998
Starting from the $\pi$-electron Pariser-Parr-Pople (PPP) Hamiltonian which includes both strong electron-phonon and electron-electron interactions, we propose some strongly correlated wave functions of increasing quality for the ground state of ...
