Highly gate-tuneable Rashba spin-orbit interaction in a gate-all-around InAs nanowire metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
III-V semiconductors have been intensively studied with the goal of realizing metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors (MOSFETs) with high mobility, a high on-off ratio, and low power consumption as next-generation transistors designed to ...

Surface composition and taxonomic classification of a group of near-Earth and Mars-crossing asteroids

open access: yes, 2013
In the past, constraining the surface composition of near-Earth asteroids (NEAs) has been difficult due to the lack of high quality near-IR spectral data (0.7-2.5 microns) that contain mineralogically diagnostic absorption bands. Here we present visible (

Inhibitory Effect of Lidocaine on Duodenal Peristalsis During Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography: A Multicenter, Randomized Controlled Trial (With Video)

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 6, Issue 1, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Objectives Conventional antispasmodics used during endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), such as hyoscine butylbromide and glucagon, are often contraindicated in elderly patients with comorbidities. This trial aimed to assess the efficacy of lidocaine for inhibiting duodenal peristalsis during ERCP.

Monolithic Integration of InP Wire and $\mbox{SiO}_x$ Waveguides on Si Platform

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2015
We report a low-loss InP wire waveguide monolithically integrated with an SiOx waveguide on an Si platform. By means of directly bonding InP to SiO 2, we realized a submicrometer-scale InP wire waveguide with high optical confinement.

Research activities at NTT

open access: yesIII-Vs Review, 1997
AbstractI have visited Japan several times and my most-recent trip, which occurred under the auspices of the British Council, left me once again delighted and suffering from information overload. This is the second of a series of features on Japan's R&D.

Endogenous Competition Strategies With R&D in a Vertically Mixed Market Under Forward Passive Ownership

open access: yesThe Manchester School, Volume 94, Issue 2, Page 234-248, March 2026.
ABSTRACT This study examines endogenous choices of competition strategies in a vertically related mixed market in which an integrated public firm and a downstream firm, subject to forward passive ownership (FPO) by an input supplier, may engage in R&D investment.

A strict experimental test of macroscopic realism in a superconducting flux qubit

open access: yesNature Communications, 2016
Objective collapse theories are formulations of quantum physics that attempt to solve the measurement problem through modified dynamical laws. Here, the authors constrain such theories by testing a generalization of the Leggett-Garg inequality in a ...
