A Simple In Situ Marker Guiding Shape‐Controlled Synthesis of Iron Oxide Nanoparticles
The use of a simple, in situ temperature marker of particle formation is demonstrated for the thermal decomposition of iron oleate. The marker reveals a relationship between the onset of particle formation, the concentration of surfactants, and the shape of the particles that corroborates a chemically activated burst nucleation.

Recent Results from PHENIX Experiment at RHIC: Exploring the QCD Medium
We review some important results from the PHENIX experiment at RHIC. They were obtained in a unique environment for studying QCD bulk matter at temperatures and densities that sur- pass the limits where hadrons exist as individual entities, so raising to

Neutrino-nucleus reactions in the energy range 1-100 MeV [PDF]
We review some salient aspects of calculations of the neutrino-nucleus reaction cross sections in the low energy range (1-100 MeV).Comment: 6 pages:Invited talk at NuInt05 (Fourth International Workshop on Neutrino- Nucleus Interactions in the Few-GeV ...

Nuclear shape dependence of Gamow-Teller distributions in neutron-deficient Pb isotopes [PDF]
We study Gamow-Teller strength distributions in the neutron-deficient even isotopes (184-194)Pb in a search for signatures of deformation. The microscopic formalism used is based on a deformed quasiparticle random phase approximation (QRPA) approach ...

Multiscale Investigation of Sodium‐Ion Battery Anodes: Analytical Techniques and Applications
Here, several analytical methods across multiple time and length scales are discussed, covering a wide range of physical and (electro)chemical properties. To fully grasp the complexity of sodium‐ion battery anodes, integrated studies on the same battery system, ranging from the cellular level to the atomic level, are required.

Small molecule probes for the specific imaging of monoamine oxidase A and monoamine oxidase B
Because of their close relationship with various diseases, monoamine oxidases have been recognized as key biomarkers in diagnosis and targets for therapies from a clinical perspective. The development of molecular probes for dynamic imaging of monoamine oxidases has greatly improved our understanding of their functions under physiological and ...

A consistent analysis of (e,e'p) and (d,3He) experiments
The apparent discrepancy between spectroscopic factors obtained in (e,e'p) and (d,3He) experiments is investigated. This is performed first for 48Ca(e,e'p) and 48Ca(d,3He) experiments and then for other nuclei. It is shown that the discrepancy disappears
