Ultrathin lithium metal anodes (≤15 µm) offer a promising route to high‐energy‐density batteries due to their high capacity and low potential. This review presents design principles for ultrathin Li, evaluates fabrication strategies, and discusses challenges in liquid and solid‐state cells.

The g factor of the bound muon in medium-Z muonic atoms
We consider a theory of the g factor of a bound muon in a three-body atomic system, which consists of a spinless nucleus, a muon, and an electron in the medium range of Z=10–30.

Chiral Shielding in Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy
A novel van der Waals shielding mechanism is discussed which contributes to the magnetic shielding non-equivalence of optical isomers of one chiral species in the presence of a second optically active species.

I. Nuclear Spin-Internal-Rotation Coupling. II. Fluorine Spin-Rotation Interaction and Magnetic Shielding in Fluorobenzene [PDF]
Part I. The interaction of a nuclear magnetic moment situated on an internal top with the magnetic fields produced by the internal as well as overall molecular rotation has been derived following the method of Van Vleck for the spin-rotation interaction

A dual‐additive electrolyte strategy is developed to address the hydrolysis of I+ in the aqueous electrolytes. The steric‐hindrance effect of TES− effectively shields I+ from nucleophilic attacks by hydroxyl groups, facilitating the reversible I−/I0/I+ conversion with four‐electron transfer.

Volume changes of a solid‐state battery cell are separated into the individual contributions of anode and cathode. Simultaneously determining the “reaction volumes” of both electrodes requires a reference electrode with a pressure‐independent potential.

This study proposes a function‐sharing anode design to enable nonmetallic lithium insertion while maintaining intimate interfacial contact with the solid‐state electrolyte. A combination of lithium‐compatible and conformable borohydrides, highly conformable indium metal, less‐graphitized acetylene black, and a layer of highly graphitized massive ...
