Abstract Entry into the field of clinical medical physics is most commonly accomplished through the completion of a Commission on Accreditation of Medical Physics Educational Programs (CAMPEP)‐accredited graduate and residency program. To allow a mechanism to bring valuable expertise from other disciplines into clinical practice in medical physics, an “

PION CORRELATIONS IN NUCLEAR MATTER [PDF]
The saturation properties of the nuclear matter taking pion correlations into account are studied. We construct a Bogoliubov transformation for the pion pair operators and calculate the energy associated with the pion pairs. The pion dispersion relation is investigated.

Constraining nuclear matter parameters from correlation systematics:a mean-field perspective [PDF]
The nuclear matter parameters define the nuclear equation of state (EoS), they appear as coefficients of expansion around the saturation density of symmetric and asymmetric nuclear matter. We review their correlations with several properties of finite nuclei and of neutron stars within mean-field frameworks.

Half-Skyrmions and the Equation of State for Compact-Star Matter
The half-skyrmions that appear in dense baryonic matter when skyrmions are put on crystals modify drastically hadron properties in dense medium and affect strongly the nuclear tensor forces, thereby influencing the equation of state (EoS) of dense ...

Density Dependence of Nucleon Bag Constant, Radius and Mass in an Effective Field Theory Model of QCD [PDF]
With the global color symmetry model (GCM) being extended to finite chemical potential, the density dependence of the bag constant, the total energy and the radius of a nucleon, as well as the quark condensate in nuclear matter are investigated.

Pre/Post-Merger Consistency Test for Gravitational Signals from Binary Neutron Star Mergers
Gravitational waves from binary neutron star (BNS) mergers can constrain nuclear models, predicting their equation of state (EOS). Matter effects on the inspiral-merger signal are encoded in the multipolar tidal polarizability parameters, whose leading ...

α2 → 8 polysialic acid elicits poor immunogenicity. Small‐angle scattering shows a supramolecular structure with parallel‐chain binding, although in different forms at μm and mm calcium. The major histocompatibility complex requires molecular weights around 2000 Da to produce antibodies, and 2000 Da polysialic oligomers will bind in these structures ...

Abstract Positron emission tomography with x‐ray computed tomography (PET/CT) is increasingly being utilized for radiation treatment planning (RTP). Accurate delivery of RT therefore depends on quality PET/CT data. This study covers quality control (QC) procedures required for PET/CT for diagnostic imaging and incremental QC required for RTP.

Popcorn transitions and approach to conformality in homogeneous holographic nuclear matter [PDF]
We study cold and dense nuclear matter by using the gauge/gravity duality. To this end we use the Witten-Sakai-Sugimoto model and the V-QCD models with an approach where the nuclear matter is taken to be spatially homogeneous. We focus on the ''popcorn'' transitions, which are phase transitions in the nuclear matter phases induced by changes in the ...

Spin polarised nuclear matter and its application to neutron stars [PDF]
An equation of state(EOS) of nuclear matter with explicit inclusion of a spin-isospin dependent force is constructed from a finite range, momentum and density dependent effective interaction.
