The Role of Imaging in Nuclear Medicine: The Medical Perspective

open access: yes, 2013
The era of clinical nuclear medicine started already 70 years ago with the first human examination of the thyroid (Fig. 2.1). Iodine's natural affinity for the gland was used for these first examinations in patients.

Engineering Carbon Cloth‐Catalyst Interfaces for Pt‐Free Hydrogen Evolution Across the Full pH Spectrum

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Interfacial synergy between carbon cloth and Pt‐free metal/nonmetal catalysts enhances charge transfer, wettability, active site accessibility, and hydrogen bubble release, enabling efficient and durable hydrogen evolution across acidic, neutral, and alkaline media for scalable green hydrogen production.

SAT1‐Induced Spermidine Depletion Potentiates Food Allergy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Spermidine depletion, driven by upregulated spermidine/spermine N1‐acetyltransferase (SAT1), potentiates food allergy by promoting mast cell degranulation through autophagy suppression. SAT1 physically interacts with the long noncoding RNA Cdk19os to inhibit Atg5 and Atg7, disrupting autophagic flux.

Reversible extraskeletal uptake of bone scanning in primary hyperparathyroidism [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
Metastatic calcification within soft tissue, such as the lung and stomach, is associated with hyperparathyroidism, chronic renal failure, hemodialysis, metastatic neoplasm and hypervitaminosis D.

Multimodal Imaging of Hypoxia, Metabolism and pH in Feline Sarcoma Using Hyperpolarized 13C MRI and PET

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work presents a clinically deployable simultaneous PET/MRI workflow which integrates hyperpolarized 13C imaging of metabolism and extracellular pH with [18F]FMISO PET to characterize hypoxia, acidosis, and metabolic reprogramming in feline sarcoma.

Pt‐Regulated Dynamic Cu(0) Regeneration in CuPt Alloy Enables High‐Efficiency Self‐Driven Formaldehyde Fuel Cells for Potassium Formate Production

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this work, a Cu30PtX/CF anode material was synthesized to effectively catalyze the electrocatalytic formaldehyde oxidation, and thereby assembled a fuel cell that offered a high open‐circuit potential of 0.94 V and a power density of 34.3 mW cm−2. This work realizes the co‐generation of electrical energy and high‐value‐added chemicals with nearly ...

Acoustically Activatable Drug‐Loaded Nanodroplets for Mechanochemical Therapy in Solid Tumors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Microfluidically fabricated drug‐loaded nanodroplets are sequentially activated by dual‐frequency ultrasound through acoustic droplet vaporization followed by bubble collapse, enabling spatially controlled drug release and mechanical tumor fractionation, resulting in synergistic mechanochemotherapy and prolonged survival.

ELF5‐Mediated Enhancer–Promoter Interaction Regulates LALBA Expression in Ovine Mammary Gland

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In the study, we systematically investigate the epigenetic mechanisms underlying lactation traits in sheep by integrating transcriptomic, chromatin accessibility, histone modification, and functional analyses. We identify a super‐enhancer at the LALBA locus and demonstrate that enhancer E4 functions as its core regulatory element.
