Nuclear energy comprehensive utilization technology and practice in China under the “carbon peak and carbon neutrality” goals

open access: yesResearch & Design of Nuclear Engineering
In the context of global climate change and China’s efforts to achieve the “carbon peak and carbon neutrality” goals, nuclear energy, as a clean, low-carbon, and efficient energy source, plays a significant role in the green and low-carbon transformation

Development of an MPS Code for Corium Behavior Analysis: 3D Alloy Melting

open access: yesScience and Technology of Nuclear Installations, 2022
The moving particle semi-implicit (MPS) method as a Lagrangian method is attracting increasing attention in severe accident analysis. In this paper, we developed an MPS code for the corium behavior analysis with several additional models added: an ...

Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Study of Online Analysis Method for Plutonium in Reprocessing Samples

open access: yesScience and Technology of Nuclear Installations
The concentration of plutonium (Pu) is a critical parameter for process control and analysis in the PUREX process for spent fuel reprocessing. Although spectrophotometry is a well-established technique for continuous Pu analysis, online monitoring of ...

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.
