Collisional excitation of doubly and triply deuterated ammonia ND$_2$H and ND$_3$ by H$_2$ [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The availability of collisional rate coefficients is a prerequisite for an accurate interpretation of astrophysical observations, since the observed media often harbour densities where molecules are populated under non--LTE conditions.

Energy Landscapes in Chemical Reactions and Transport

open access: yesChemPhysChem, Volume 26, Issue 6, March 15, 2025.
Kinetics/dynamics of chemical reactivity and transport of chemical species in a solid are both determined by the energy landscape in which they take place. Discussing common grounds but also distinct differences may help in advancing the understanding in both fields.

Memory of Chirality in Radical Addition–Translocation–Cyclization Cascades

open access: yesHelvetica Chimica Acta, EarlyView.
Radical addition–translocation–cyclization cascades of chiral alkynes show striking memory of chirality (MoC), with strong retention of configuration when fast, polarity favored cyclization are involved. The most effective system employs a highly electron‐poor pentafluorobenzenesulfonyl group.

India's Nuclear Odyssey: Implicit Umbrellas, Diplomatic Disappointments, and the Bomb [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Security, 2011
Why did India merely flirt with nuclear weapons in the 1960s and 1970s only to emerge as a nuclear power in the 1990s? Although a variety of factors informed India's prolonged restraint and subsequent breakthrough, new evidence indicates that India's “nuclear odyssey” can be understood as a function of Indian leaders' ability to secure their country ...
