Cartridge-Based Nucleic Acid Amplification Test

Journal of Datta Meghe Institute of Medical Sciences University, 2022
Introduction: Tuberculosis (TB) of the lung is an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, which is an aerobic, acid-fast, Gram-positive bacillus. India has the world's highest number of TB cases, accounting for one-fourth of all TB cases. For efficient treatment of pulmonary TB, microbiological diagnosis is the

Nucleic Acid Amplification Testing in Suspected Child Sexual Abuse

Journal of Child Sexual Abuse, 2011
The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that site-specific cultures be obtained, when indicated, for sexually victimized children. Nucleic acid amplification testing is a highly sensitive and specific methodology for identifying sexually transmitted infections.

Nucleic acid-amplification testing for hepatitis B in cornea donors

Cell and Tissue Banking, 2015
Careful donor selection and implementation of tests of appropriate sensitivity and specificity are of paramount importance for minimizing the risk of transmitting infectious diseases from donors to corneal allograft recipients. Reported cases of viral transmission with corneal grafts are very unusual.

Tuberculous orchiepididymitis diagnosed by nucleic acid amplification test: A case report

International Urology and Nephrology, 2003
Symptoms of tuberculous orchiepididymitis in a 39-year-old male started with swelling of left scrotum, followed by fistula formation with suppurative discharge. There was no any improvement produced by antibiotics. Surgical extirpation of inflammatory destroyed testicle and epidydimis was performed.

Commercial nucleic acid amplification tests in tuberculous meningitis—a meta-analysis

Diagnostic Microbiology and Infectious Disease, 2014
Although nucleic acid amplification tests (NAATs) promise a rapid, definitive diagnosis of tuberculous meningitis, the performance of first-generation NAATs was suboptimal and variable. We conducted a meta-analysis of studies published between 2003 and 2013, using the Quality Assessment of Diagnostic Accuracy Studies-2 (QUADAS-2) tool to evaluate ...
