Amyloid-associated nucleic acid hybridisation. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2011
Nucleic acids promote amyloid formation in diseases including Alzheimer's and Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease. However, it remains unclear whether the close interactions between amyloid and nucleic acid allow nucleic acid secondary structure to play a role in ...

Crystal Structure of a Eukaryotic GEN1 Resolving Enzyme Bound to DNA

open access: yesCell Reports, 2015
We present the crystal structure of the junction-resolving enzyme GEN1 bound to DNA at 2.5 Å resolution. The structure of the GEN1 protein reveals it to have an elaborated FEN-XPG family fold that is modified for its role in four-way junction resolution.

A systematic investigation of key factors of nucleic acid precipitation toward optimized DNA/RNA isolation

open access: yesBioTechniques, 2020
Nucleic acid precipitation is important for virtually all molecular biology investigations. However, despite its crucial role, a systematic study of the influence factors of nucleic acid precipitation has not been reported.

Nucleic Acid Carriers Based on Precise Polymer Conjugates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Polymer polydispersity, random conjugation of functional groups, and poorly understood structure–activity relationships have constantly hampered progress in the development of nucleic acid carriers.

Comparison of bacterioneuston and bacterioplankton dynamics during a phytoplankton bloom in a fjord mesocosm [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The bacterioneuston is the community of Bacteria present in surface microlayers, the thin surface film that forms the interface between aquatic environments and the atmosphere. In this study we compared bacterial cell abundance and bacterial community

Classification of the nucleolytic ribozymes based upon catalytic mechanism [version 1; peer review: 3 approved]

open access: yesF1000Research, 2019
The nucleolytic ribozymes carry out site-specific RNA cleavage reactions by nucleophilic attack of the 2′-oxygen atom on the adjacent phosphorus with an acceleration of a million-fold or greater.

Effects of Different Lengths of a Nucleic Acid Binding Region and Bound Nucleic Acids on the Phase Behavior and Purification Process of HBcAg Virus-Like Particles

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology, 2022
Virus-like particles (VLPs) are macromolecular structures with great potential as vehicles for the targeted administration of functional molecules. Loaded with nucleic acids, VLPs are a promising approach for nanocarriers needed for gene therapy.

Optimizing scoring function of protein-nucleic acid interactions with both affinity and specificity. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
Protein-nucleic acid (protein-DNA and protein-RNA) recognition is fundamental to the regulation of gene expression. Determination of the structures of the protein-nucleic acid recognition and insight into their interactions at molecular level are vital ...
