Genome sequence of Leucania seperata nucleopolyhedrovirus

Virus Genes, 2007
The nucleotide sequence of the Leucania seperata (Ls) Nucleopolyhedrovirus (LsNPV) genome has been determined and analyzed. The circular dsDNA genome contains 168041 bp, making it the largest NPV sequenced to date. The genome has a G + C content of 48.6% and encodes 169 predicted open reading frames (ORFs), one unique repeat region, and eight ...

Characterization of Antheraea pernyi nucleopolyhedrovirus p11 gene, a homologue of Autographa californica nucleopolyhedrovirus orf108

Virus Genes, 2006
Antheraea pernyi nucleopolyhedrovirus (ApNPV) p11 gene is 309 bp long, potentially encoding 102 amino acids with a predicted molecular weight of 11.2 kDa. ApNPV p11 gene was cloned into the prokaryotic expression vector pQE-30 and P11 was expressed in E. coli M15. Polyclonal antiserum was made against 6xHis tagged P11 protein expressed in E.

Genetic variation and virulence of Autographa californica multiple nucleopolyhedrovirus and Trichoplusia ni single nucleopolyhedrovirus isolates

Journal of Invertebrate Pathology, 2012
To determine the genetic diversity within the baculovirus species Autographa calfornica multiple nucleopolyhedrovirus (AcMNPV; Baculoviridae: Alphabaculovirus), a PCR-based method was used to identify and classify baculoviruses found in virus samples from the lepidopteran host species A.

A nucleopolyhedrovirus from Uranotaenia sapphirina (Diptera: Culicidae)

Journal of Invertebrate Pathology, 2004
In this report we present data on biology, gross pathology, ultrastructure, and host range studies of a naturally occurring nucleopolyhedrovirus from the mosquito Uranotaenia sapphirina (UrsaNPV). Development of this virus was restricted to nuclei of epithelial cells in posterior midgut and distal gastric caecum.

Morphology and genome of Euproctis pseudoconspersa nucleopolyhedrovirus

Virus Genes, 2009
Euproctis pseudoconspersa NPV (EupsNPV) is pathogenic to the tea tussock (E. pseudoconspersa), one of the major pests of tea bushes in East Asia, and has been used to control the pest. Electron microscope observation showed there were two modes for the virions embedded in each polyhedron, single-nucleocapsid and double-nucleocapsid.

Expression and localization of Bombyx mori nucleopolyhedrovirus GP37

Virus Genes, 2023
Mitochondria play an essential role in intracellular energy metabolism. This study described the involvement of Bombyx mori nucleopolyhedrovirus (BmNPV) GP37 (BmGP37) in host mitochondria. Herein, the proteins associated with host mitochondria isolated from BmNPV-infected or mock-infected cells by two-dimensional gel electrophoresis were compared.

Vertical Transmission of Nucleopolyhedrovirus in Insects

Journal of Invertebrate Pathology, 1999
A review of the literature on transmission studies of nucleopolyhedroviruses showed that low levels of viral infection were common among studies of pupae of insects but rarer in adults. Virus could be transmitted from parent to progeny and could be found in caterpillars reared from surface-decontaminated eggs.

Functional analysis of Spodoptera litura nucleopolyhedrovirus p49 gene during Autographa californica nucleopolyhedrovirus infection of SpLi-221 cells

Virus Genes, 2010
The Spodoptera litura nucleopolyhedrovirus (SpltNPV) antiapoptotic gene Splt-p49 is able to rescue replication of a p35-null Autographa californica nucleopolyhedrovirus (AcMNPV) in AcMNPV-permissive Sf9 cells. In this study, an AcMNPV p35 knockout bacmid was generated through ET homologous recombination in Escherichia coli and designated as vAc(P35-KO).

Comparative study on the susceptibility of cutworms (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) to Agrotis segetum nucleopolyhedrovirus and Agrotis ipsilon nucleopolyhedrovirus

Journal of Invertebrate Pathology, 2003
The common cutworm (Agrotis segetum) and the black cutworm (Agrotis ipsilon) are serious soil pests of many vegetable and field crops all over the world. We have demonstrated the cross-infectivity of two baculoviruses, A. segetum nucleopolyhedrovirus (AgseNPV) and A. ipsilon nucleopolyhedrovirus (AgipNPV) for these two insect pests.

NUCLEOPOLYHEDROVIRUS PATHOLOGY IN SPRUCE BUDWORM LARVAE

The Canadian Entomologist, 2000
AbstractChoristoneura fumiferana (Clemens) (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae) multiple nucleopolyhedrovirus (CfMNPV) expressing green fluorescent protein was used to study aspects of nucleopolyhedrovirus infection in the spruce budworm. The temporal and spatial distribution of fluorescence indicated that the virus infected the midgut, entered the tracheal ...
