Genomic diversity of Bombyx mori nucleopolyhedrovirus strains

open access: yesGenomics, 2013
Bombyx mori nucleopolyhedrovirus (BmNPV) is a baculovirus that selectively infects the domestic silkworm. In this study, six BmNPV strains were compared at the whole genome level. We found that the number of bro genes and the composition of the homologous regions (hrs) are the two primary areas of divergence within these genomes.

ADAPTATION OF THE CORN EARWORM SINGLE NUCLEOCAPCIDE NUCLEOPOLYHEDROVIRUS (HELICOVERPA ZEA SNPV) FOR THE CONTROL OF THE COTTON BOLLWORM (HELICOVERPA ARMIGERA) POPULATION

open access: yesВопросы вирусологии, 2017
Helicoverpa zea (Boddie, 1850) (Hz) single nucleocapcide nucleopolyhedrovirus (SNPV) was adapted to the cotton bollworm (Helicoverpa armigera, (Hübner, 1805) (Ha)) by five blind passages on larvae.

Preparation and performance of insect virus microcapsules

open access: yesEgyptian Journal of Biological Pest Control, 2021
Background Biological pesticides, especially baculovirus, often lose their activity under the influence of external light, temperature, and other changes. This limited the application of them.

A gypsy moth (Lymantria dispar, Lepidoptera: Lymantriidae) multinucleocapsid nuclear polyhedrosis virus from France: comparison with a North American and a Korean strain

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Entomology, 2001
As part of a search for natural enemies of the gypsy moth (Lymantria dispar), virus-infected samples were collected near Toulouse, France. Light and electron microscope studies confirmed that the French strain is a multinucleocapsid nuclear polyhedrosis ...

Patterns in Genotype Composition of Indian Isolates of the Bombyx mori Nucleopolyhedrovirus and Bombyx mori Bidensovirus

open access: yesViruses, 2021
The mulberry silkworm, Bombyx mori (L.), is a model organism of lepidopteran insects with high economic importance. The viral diseases of the silkworm caused by Bombyx mori nucleopolyhedrovirus (BmNPV) and Bombyx mori bidensovirus (BmBDV) inflict huge ...

Characterization of ORF29 of Bombyx mori nucleopolyhedroviru

open access: yesActa Virologica, 2010
ORF 29 of Bombyx mori nucleopolyhedrovirus (BmNPV ORF29), a conserved gene among all the lepidopteran baculoviruses, was subjected to analysis of sequence and transcription/translation in the insect BmN cells in vitro. His-tagged BmNPV ORF29 fusion protein was expressed in Escherichia coli, purified and used for the production of an antiserum.

Determination of the resistance to grassery of Thai silkworm, Bombyx mori [PDF]

open access: yesWarasan Witthayasat Lae Theknoloyi Mahawitthayalai Mahasarakham, 2019
The grassery caused by Bombyx mori nucleopolyhedrovirus (BmNPV) is the most severe disease in Thai sericultural practice. In this study, a resistance of Thai silkworm, Bombyx mori to grassery disease was determined.
