Reduction of cytidine nucleotides to deoxycytidine nucleotides by mammalian enzymes
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta, 1962Abstract 1. 1. Conditions for the reduction in vitro of cytidine nucleotides to deoxycytidine nucleotides by an extract of the Novikoff ascites rat tumor are described. ATP was required; TPN, Mg 2+ and Fe 3+ stimulated the reaction. The effects of other metal ions and of a number of organic compounds on the reaction are described. 2.

Nucleotides and nucleotide derivatives as signal molecules in plants
Journal of Experimental BotanyAbstract In reaction to a stimulus, signaling molecules are made, generate a response, and are then degraded. Nucleotides are classically associated with central metabolism and nucleic acid biosynthesis, but there are a number of nucleotides and nucleotide derivatives in plants to which this simple definition of a signaling molecule ...

Nucleotides as nucleophiles: Reactions of nucleotides with phosphoimidazolide activated guanosine
Origins of life and evolution of the biosphere, 1992An earlier study of the reaction of phosphoimidazolide activated nucleosides (ImpN) in aqueous phosphate buffers indicated two modes of reaction of the phosphate monoanion and dianion. The first mode is catalysis of the hydrolysis of the P-N bond in ImpN's which leads to imidazole and nucleoside 5'-monophosphate.

Profiling of Sugar Nucleotides
2017Sugar nucleotides are essential building blocks for the glycobiology of all living organisms. Detailed information on the types of sugar nucleotides present in a particular cell and how they change as a function of metabolic, developmental, or disease status is vital.
