Abstract Using the generator coordinate method to investigate the validity of the use of a potential to describe heavy ion elastic scattering, it is found that, under certain conditions, an effective potential exists. These conditions are generally satisfied by heavy ions, especially for the potential's tail. The potential obtained includes a kinetic

Il Nuovo Cimento A (1971-1996), 1980
The real part of the heavy-ion optical potential is calculated by the folding technique, by dropping the contribution of the inner nucleons instead of using density-dependent potentials. An expression is derived for the potential when one of the nuclei is considered as two fragments.

The cytoarchitecture and the histochemistry of nucleus prepositus hypoglossi and its afferent and efferent connections to oculomotor structures are described. The functional significance of the afferent connections of the nucleus is discussed in terms of current knowledge of the firing behavior of prepositus neurons in alert animals.

Relativistic nucleus-nucleus collisions
Nuclear Physics A, 1985Abstract Recent investigations of relativistic heavy ion collisions are reviewed. In particular, use of 4π detector systems. Streamer Chamber and Plastic Ball, has yielded insight into the mechanisms of thermal and chemical equilibrium establishment at Bevalac and Dubna energies, as required for the formation of compressed fireball matter ...

Multifractal analysis of nucleus-nucleus interactions
Physical Review D, 1993We have performed a multifractal ([ital G]-moment) analysis of 14.6--200 GeV/nucleon nucleus-nucleus and 200--800 GeV proton-nucleus interactions from KLM and Fermilab E-90 and E-508 emulsion data, including explicit corrections for the finite statistical sample.

Nucleus-nucleus optical potential
Physical Review C, 1975The real part of the nucleus-nucleus potential is calculated by using a density-dependent effective interaction where the local density takes into account the contribution of both the projectile and the target densities. The results indicate that the repulsion produced by the density-dependent part of the interaction is important when the densities of ...

Sagittalis Nucleus: A Novel Hypothalamic Nucleus
Journal of Neuroendocrinology, 2009The sagittalis nucleus (SGN) of the hypothalamus is a newly‐identified nucleus that is located in the interstitial area between the arcuate and ventromedial nuclei of the rat hypothalamus and for which the long axis of the nucleus is oriented sagittally.
