We combine altermagnet with topological insulators and subject the structure to Floquet driving. This breaks time‐reversal symmetry and creates a new type of higher‐order topological insulator. Its key feature is the emergence of programmable “0/π‐corner modes” that can be controlled by magnetic field direction, offering a novel dynamic platform for ...

Behavioural public policies and charitable giving [PDF]
Some of the challenges in Sanders et al. (this issue) can be aptly illustrated by means of charity nudges, that is, nudges designed to increase charitable donations. These nudges raise many ethical questions.

The unique lamellar structure of the eutectic alloy promotes selective oxidation of Al initially, while lattice distortion‐induced diffusion suppression slows oxide growth during steady state. Combining these strategies, a Multi‐Principal Element Alloy with excellent oxidation resistance at 1200℃ was designed.

Encouraging pro-environmental behaviours: a review of methods and approaches. ESRI Working Paper No. 645 December 2019 [PDF]
Many urgent environmental problems can be mitigated with more sustainable use of resource. An acknowledgement of which is a growing interest among policy practitioners in encouraging pro-environmental behaviour change initiatives. The effect of anthropic

Redefining the Health Risk of Battery Materials Through a Biologically Transformed Metal Mixture
Inhaled NCM particles undergo lysosomal degradation, releasing complex ion mixtures that induce systemic impact. The impact is determined by a critical balance between antagonistic Ni‐Co interactions and synergistic Mn effects. To capture these complexities in risk assessment, we develop an IAI model, ensuring a more accurate quantitative risk ...

Atomistic analysis of ruthenium (Ru) and oxygen vacancy (OV) diffusion in Ta₂O₅‐based memristors is performed. DFT calculations demonstrate interstitial Ru in Ta₂O₅ has lower diffusion barriers and formation energies than OVs, enhancing mobility and stability.

The novel kinetic Monte Carlo model presented here incorporates spatially‐ and time‐dependent electrical potential, which enables the precise study of the solid electrolyte interphase formation in Na‐ion batteries. The effects of electrolyte composition and charging conditions on the growth and behavior of the solid electrolyte interphase during the ...
