A Bayesian Multisource Fusion Model for Spatiotemporal PM2.5$$ {\mathrm{PM}}_{2.5} $$ in an Urban Setting

open access: yesEnvironmetrics, Volume 37, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Airborne particulate matter (PM2.5$$ {\mathrm{PM}}_{2.5} $$) is a major public health concern in urban environments, where population density and emission sources exacerbate exposure risks. We present a novel Bayesian spatiotemporal fusion model to estimate monthly PM2.5$$ {\mathrm{PM}}_{2.5} $$ concentrations over Greater London (2014–2019 ...

Effect of a Single-Sided Magnetic Field on Microstructure and Properties of Resistance Spot Weld Nuggets in H1000/DP590 Dissimilar Steels

open access: yesMetals
H1000 stainless steel is defined as a nickel-saving austenitic stainless steel, characterized by high strength and high elongation. DP590 steel is widely used in the manufacturing of vehicle bodies. DP590 dual-phase steel is classified as a high-strength

Micro Resistance Spot Welding Optimization for Ultra-Thin Mo-Re Sheet Used in TWT

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2023
$30~\mu $ m ultra-thin Mo-Re sheet had been joined by micro resistance spot welding (MRSW) and successfully applied to the low heating power cathode of traveling wave tube (TWT).

Nugget Diameter in Resistance Spot Welding: A Comparison between a Dynamic Resistance Based Approach and Ultrasound C-scan

open access: yesProcedia Engineering, 2017
Abstract Automakers today are challenged with improving the quality of spot welded structures, while reducing the costs associated with quality control. While ultrasonic C-scan testing has become a mainstay of quality control programs, it is not suitable for inspection of every weld in a high volume production due to the considerable operator skill ...

Impact of Soy Protein Concentrate and Storage on the Safety, Quality and Shelf Stability of Beef Patties

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 1, January 2026.
Soy protein concentrate (SPC) at 25% increased WHC and decreased shrinkage in patties. SPC enhanced shelf life by halting microbial growth owing to bioactive compounds. The yellow line represents the decreasing trend of redness (a*), while the blue line shows the increasing trends of lightness (L*) and yellowness (b*). ABSTRACT Incorporating affordable,

Performances of regression model and artificial neural network in monitoring welding quality based on power signal

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2020
In this study, a systematic research was conducted to compare the performances of the regression model and artificial neural network in predicting the nugget diameter of spot-welded joints by monitoring the dynamic power signature. The TC2 titanium alloy

Optimization of Process Parameters for Friction Stir Welding of Different Aluminum Alloys AA2618 to AA5086 by Taguchi Method

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, 2022
Friction stir welding (FSW) was used to combine two different Al–Cu alloys, AA2618-T87 and Al–Mg alloy AA5086-H321 plates, and the characteristics of the procedure were adjusted using Taguchi L16 orthogonal experiments planned in advance.

Weld-bonded titanium structures [PDF]

open access: yes, 1976
Structurally stronger titanium articles are produced by a weld-bonding technique comprising fastening at least two plates of titanium together using spotwelding and curing an adhesive interspersed between the spot-weld nuggets.

Large-eddy simulations of turbulent flow for grid-to-rod fretting in nuclear reactors

open access: yes, 2013
The grid-to-rod fretting (GTRF) problem in pressurized water reactors is a flow-induced vibration problem that results in wear and failure of the fuel rods in nuclear assemblies.

The impact of catastrophic forest blowdown on large wood loads in headwater streams

open access: yesEarth Surface Processes and Landforms, Volume 50, Issue 15, December 2025.
Catastrophic forest blowdown across parts of southeastern Australia in June 2021 substantially increased large wood loads in headwater streams, delivering 88% of the measured wood volume. Wood loads did not correlate to blowdown density but instead were significantly influenced by valley morphology, such that wider valley bottoms had higher wood loads.
