$\Sigma^-$ Photoproduction on the Neutron: Results from CLAS

open access: yes, 2001
As part of a broader study of kaon photoproduction on deuterium, the $\gamma n \to K^{+} \Sigma^{-} $ channel was investigated. The data were acquired at Jefferson Lab using the CLAS detector and the Photon-Tagging Facility installed in Hall B.

Search for the Top Quark at D0 using Multivariate Methods [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
We report on the search for the top quark in proton-antiproton collisions at the Fermilab Tevatron in the di-lepton and lepton+jets channels using multivariate methods.

On‐treatment dynamics of circulating extracellular vesicles in the first‐line setting of patients with advanced non‐small cell lung cancer: the LEXOVE prospective study

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LEXOVE prospective study evaluated plasma cell‐free extracellular vesicle (cfEV) dynamics using Bradford assay and dynamic light scattering in metastatic non‐small cell lung cancer patients undergoing first‐line treatments, correlating a ∆cfEV < 20% with improved median progression‐free survival in responders versus non‐responders.

Null Lagrangians and Invariance of Action: Exact Gauge Functions [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Null Lagrangians and their gauge functions are derived for given standard and non-standard Lagrangians. The obtained standard null Lagrangians generalize those previously found but the non-standard null Lagrangians are new. The gauge functions are used to make the action invariant and introduce the exact null Lagrangians, which form a new family of ...

Cellular liquid biopsy provides unique chances for disease monitoring, preclinical model generation and therapy adjustment in rare salivary gland cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We quantified and cultured circulating tumor cells (CTCs) of 62 patients with various cancer types and generated CTC‐derived tumoroid models from two salivary gland cancer patients. Cellular liquid biopsy‐derived information enabled molecular genetic assessment of systemic disease heterogeneity and functional testing for therapy selection in both ...

Schild's Null Strings in Flat and Curved Backgrounds [PDF]

open access: yesPhys.Rev. D53 (1996) 6842-6846, 1995
Schild's null (tensionless) strings are discussed in certain flat and curved backgrounds. We find closed, stationary, null strings as natural configurations existing on the horizons of spacetimes which possess such null hypersurfaces. Examples of these are obtained in Schwarzschild and Rindler spacetimes.

The Double Chooz Experiment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
There is broad consensus in the worldwide physics community as to the need for a new reactor-neutrino experiment to measure or limit the neutrino mixing angle $\theta_{13}$.

Obesity alters the fitness of peritumoral adipose tissue, exacerbating tumor invasiveness in renal cancer through the induction of ADAM12 and CYP1B1

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor microenvironment drives cancer formation and progression. We analyzed the role of human cancer‐associated adipocytes from patients with renal cell carcinoma (RCC) stratified as lean, overweight, or obese. RNA‐seq demonstrated that, among the most altered genes involved in the tumor–stroma crosstalk, are ADAM12 and CYP1B1, which were proven to be ...

A Social Support Intervention to Reduce Intentions to Drop-out from Youth Sport: The GAA Super Games Centre

open access: yesPsychosocial Intervention, 2019
Research has highlighted that drop-out from youth sport has emerged to become a global trend with drop-out rates exceeding 30% in some countries. This study aimed to investigate the effect of a change in perceived support on intentions to drop out from ...
