Null controllability for wave equations with memory
We study the memory-type null controllability property for wave equations involving memory terms. The goal is not only to drive the displacement and the velocity (of the considered wave) to rest at some time-instant but also to require the memory term to vanish at the same time, ensuring that the whole process reaches the equilibrium.

Null-control and measurable sets [PDF]
We prove the interior and boundary null-controllability of some parabolic evolutions with controls acting over measurable sets.

Null controllability on Lie groups [PDF]
We prove an extension of a classical result for null controllability of linear control systems on Euclidean spaces, to linear control systems on a connected Lie group G, assumed to be simply connected and nilpotent.

Null-controllability of linear parabolic-transport systems [PDF]
Over the past two decades, the controllability of several examples of parabolic-hyperbolic systems has been investigated. The present article is the beginning of an attempt to find a unified framework that encompasses and generalizes the previous results. We consider constant coefficients parabolic-transport systems with coupling of order zero and one,

Controllability Metrics on Networks with Linear Decision Process-type Interactions and Multiplicative Noise [PDF]
This paper aims at the study of controllability properties and induced controllability metrics on complex networks governed by a class of (discrete time) linear decision processes with mul-tiplicative noise.

A hyperbolic system and the cost of null controllability for the Stokes system [PDF]
This paper is devoted to study the cost of the null controllability for the Stokes system. Using the control transmutation method we show that the cost of driving the Stokes system to rest at time T is of order e^C/T when T -->0^+,i.e., the same order as

Unique continuation estimates for the Kolmogorov equation in the whole space [PDF]
We prove in this Note an observation estimate at one point in time for the Kolmogorov equation in the whole space. Such estimate implies the observability and the null controllability for the Kolmogorov equation with a control region which is ...

Controllability and null controllability of linear systems
This paper establishes sufficient conditions for the controllability and null controllability of linear systems. The aim is to use the variation of constant formula to deduce our controllability grammiam, by exploiting the properties of the grammiam and the asymptotic stability of the free system, we achieved our results.

Fast global null controllability for a viscous Burgers' equation despite the presence of a boundary layer [PDF]
In this work, we are interested in the small time global null controllability for the viscous Burgers' equation y_t - y_xx + y y_x = u(t) on the line segment [0,1]. The second-hand side is a scalar control playing a role similar to that of a pressure. We

Internal controllability of the Korteweg-de Vries equation on a bounded domain [PDF]
This paper is concerned with the control properties of the Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equation posed on a bounded interval with a distributed control. When the control region is an arbitrary open subdomain, we prove the null controllability of the KdV ...
