Baryon-number-violating nucleon decays in ALP effective field theories

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
The search for baryon-number-violating (BNV) nucleon decay is an intriguing probe of new physics beyond the SM in future neutrino experiments with enhanced sensitivity.

Effect of radial magnetic field on natural convection flow in alternate conducting vertical concentric annuli with ramped temperature

open access: yesEngineering Science and Technology, an International Journal, 2016
In this article, a numerical analysis has been performed to study the effect of radial magnetic field on natural convection of a viscous incompressible and electrically conducting fluid within the concentric vertical annuli containing a ramped type ...

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Multiple ETS family transcription factors bind mutant p53 via distinct interaction regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mutant p53 gain‐of‐function is thought to be mediated by interaction with other transcription factors. We identify multiple ETS transcription factors that can bind mutant p53 and found that this interaction can be promoted by a PXXPP motif. ETS proteins that strongly bound mutant p53 were upregulated in ovarian cancer compared to ETS proteins that ...

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Numerical Study on Flow Field and Abundance Field of a Binary Gas Mixture with Large Mass Number Difference

open access: yesJournal of Isotopes, 2023
In study of the flow of an isotopic gas mixture in a rotating cylinder, the isotope approximation method is generally introduced to decouple the flow problem of the mixed gas and the component transport problem by considering the small molecular weight ...

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).
