Conditionally Significant eQTL and TWAS Analyses Identify MsRD26 as a Major Candidate Positive Regulator of Salt Tolerance in Medicago sativa L

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Salt stress significantly impacts plant growth. Through population transcriptome, eQTL and TWAS analyses, we identified several candidate genes potentially associated with salt stress response. Functional assays suggested that some of these genes may contribute to salt tolerance.

Endothelial miR‐15a/16‐1 Regulation of SYNE1 Mediates Structural and Functional Recovery after Traumatic Brain Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Endothelial miR‐15a/16‐1 deletion promotes long‐term recovery after traumatic brain injury by restoring SYNE1 expression. Enhanced endothelial SYNE1 preserves vascular integrity, protects white and gray matter, and improves neurological function. The endothelial miR‐15a/16‐1–SYNE1 axis emerges as a key regulator of neurovascular repair and a potential ...

Serbia and the ICTY: How Effective Is EU Conditionality? College of Europe EU Diplomacy Paper 6/2009, September 2009 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Over the past two decades conditionality has moved to the heart of the European Union’s (EU) foreign policy and is one of the key instruments of the enlargement policy.

A Multidimensional Engineering Strategy Reprograms Microglia via Targeted and Sustained‐Release Extracellular Vesicles for Spinal Cord Injury Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multifunctional EV‐based nanoplatform (Ang‐TEVs@Gel) was engineered via preconditioning, surface targeting, and ROS‐responsive hydrogel encapsulation to reprogram microglia. This system restored autophagy via miR‐664a‐3p/PIK3CA axis, cleared myelin debris, resolved neuroinflammation, and promoted axon remyelination, ultimately achieving robust motor ...

The Causes and Consequences of IMF Conditionality [PDF]

open access: yes
We develop a public choice model of the International Monetary Fund in which credit and conditionality are simultaneously determined by the demand for, and supply of, IMF credit.

Rainfall Shapes the Diversity of Soil Nitrogen‐Fixing Microorganisms Worldwide

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals the distinctive pattern and mechanism of rainfall driving the global biodiversity and biogeography of soil potential N‐fixing microorganisms, and constructs the theoretical framework. The results guide us on how to maintain ecosystem productivity under future climate changes (e.g., whether a specific region needs more N fertilizers ...

Universal Battery Capacity Degradation Forecasting Driven by Foundation Models Across Diverse Chemistries and Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A unified time‐series forecasting framework learns transferable battery capacity‐degradation patterns from 20 heterogeneous datasets spanning chemistries, formats, temperatures, and cycling conditions. A single model delivers competitive predictions on both known and previously unseen datasets, while physics‐guided representation learning improves ...

Limits of Conditionality in Poverty Reduction Programs [PDF]

open access: yes
When donors and recipients have different preferences over budgetary allocations, conditionality helps the implementation of donor-financed poverty reduction programs.

IMF conditionality: imposition or ownership? The case of Egypt [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Since its establishment, the IMF has been subject to constant interest from both academic circles and the media. Of the three types of the IMF's functions (regulatory, consultative, and financial), the latter - particularly the provision of temporary ...

Tau Aggregate Imaging and Transcriptomics of Alzheimer's Disease Brain at Different Stages of Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The protein aggregates and gene expression in the middle temporal gyrus (MTG) and somatosensory cortex (SOM) of the postmortem brains of 13 Alzheimer's disease patients were studied in detail, revealing that small hyperphosphorylated tau aggregates increase with Braak stage driven by microglial inflammation.
