Evaluating associative classification algorithms for Big Data
Background Associative Classification, a combination of two important and different fields (classification and association rule mining), aims at building accurate and interpretable classifiers by means of association rules.

Splitting Circle Overview [PDF]
This paper derives numerical bounds for and implements the splitting circle method for finding roots of a univariate polynomial in the presence of fixed precision.

A Comparison of SOR, ADI and Multigrid Methods for Solving Partial Differential Equations [PDF]
This article presents several numerical techniques for solving Laplace equation. A numerical FORTRAN solver is developed to solve the 2D laplace equation. The numerical approaches implemented in the solver include Jacobi, Gauss-Siedel, Successive Over Relaxation, Alternating Direct Implicit and Multigrid methods.

Mode analysis of numerical geodynamo models
It has been suggested in Hoyng (2009) that dynamo action can be analysed by expansion of the magnetic field into dynamo modes and statistical evaluation of the mode coefficients.

Simulating elliptic diffusions and orthogonal invariance [PDF]
We study numerical methods for simulating diffusions that exploit the orthogonal invariance of the Gaussian law, building on the work of Cruzeiro, Malliavin and Thalmeier.

Numerical equilibrium analysis for structured consumer resource models [PDF]
In this paper, we present methods for a numerical equilibrium and stability analysis for models of a size structured population competing for an unstructured resource.

Population and species neighbor identity impact trait–trait relationships and plant performance
We evaluated how populations and species identity influence plant performance and trait outcomes in mixtures, and assessed trait variation among populations of two forb species native to the western United States (Dieteria canescens and Heterotheca villosa) following three interaction treatments (single‐population monoculture, two‐population mixture ...

Learning about compact binary merger: the interplay between numerical relativity and gravitational-wave astronomy [PDF]
Activities in data analysis and numerical simulation of gravitational waves have to date largely proceeded independently. In this work we study how waveforms obtained from numerical simulations could be effectively used within the data analysis effort to

Effects of chronic browsing on life‐history traits of an irruptive large herbivore population
This study aimed to determine the relationship between diet quality, body mass, and size (hind foot length), and female reproduction and sought to identify the mechanism by which high density under severe food limitations is maintained. Our results demonstrated that sika deer introduced to Nakanoshima Island have maintained high densities through high ...
