Linguistic Inversion and Numerical Estimation [PDF]
Number line estimation (NLE) performance is usually believed to depend on the magnitudes of presented numerals, rather than on the particular digits instantiating those magnitudes. Recent research, however, shows that NLE placements differ considerably for target numerals with nearly identical magnitudes, but instantiated with different leftmost digits

Optimized numerical inverse Laplace transformation
Among the numerical inverse Laplace transformation (NILT) methods, those that belong to the Abate-Whitt framework (AWF) are considered to be the most efficient ones currently. It is a characteristic feature of the AWF NILT procedures that they are independent of the transform function and the time point of interest. In this work we propose an

A Numerical Method for Inverse Spectral Problems

Dogon adjective-numeral inversion
AbstractIn several Dogon languages, the ordering of simple N-Adj-Num DPs is strict. Adjectives and numerals also differ from each other in morphology and tonosyntax. When an inversion licensor (usually a reference restrictor) is addèd, N-Adj-Num is optionally inverted to N-Num-Adj.

Inverse Numerator Relationship Matrix Approximation
Abstract Genetic evaluation by BLUP requires knowledge of the inverse numerator relationship matrix among breeding values. When pedigree information is complete, the true relationship matrix can be determined and an exact inverse found. When pedigree information is incomplete, an exact inverse of an approximate relationship matrix is obtainable.

Numerical inverse transformation for map projections
In cartography map projections are used to transform geographical coordinates to plane coordinates. This is called forward transformation. For many geographic information system (GIS) applications paper maps are digitised, and so captured data are integrated into another data set.

Numerical inversion of Laplace transform
An explicit formula for the inversion of the Laplace transform is derived. The formula permits the inverse to be readily evaluated numerically.

Numerical inversion of integral transforms
AbstractThe difficulties associated with the numerical inversion of Fourier and Laplace transforms are identified and a method, based on the modified Fourier transform, developed to overcome them. The method will deal with problems which are non-linear in the sense that the parameters are frequency dependent.
