Numerical Modeling of Electrowetting by a Shape Inverse Approach [PDF]
We model an electrified droplet spreading on a solid surface. The model aims to seek a drop shape that minimizes its total energy (capillary, electrostatic, and gravitational). We derive the equations and the shape gradient; then we detail the shape optimization algorithm and present some numerical results.

We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Numerical solution for nonlocal Sobolev-type differential equations
We present a numerical approximate solution to Sobolev-type differential equation subject to nonlocal initial boundary conditions. A Laplace transform method is described for the solution of considered equation.

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

Computer-Aided Numerical Inversion of Laplace Transform
This paper explores the technique for the computer aided numerical inversion of Laplace transform. The inversion technique is based on the properties of a family of three parameter exponential probability density functions.

Animals must match their growth rate to available nutrients. We show that in Drosophila larvae, the nutrient‐sensing TOR kinase controls growth by regulating levels of TFAM, a key regulator of mitochondrial function, in the adipose tissue. When nutrients are abundant, high TOR activity suppresses TFAM, lowering mitochondrial bioenergetic activity and ...

An alternative method for numerical inversion of Laplace transforms [PDF]
Based on least-squares approximation of the rectangular pulse [1] by exponential functions, this paper presents an alternative method for performing numerical inversion of the Laplace transform. It compares favourably with the celebrated Vlach's method.

Numerical estimation of choice of the regularization parameter for NMR T2 inversion
Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) T2 inversion is the basis of NMR logging interpretation. The regularization parameter selection of the penalty term directly influences the NMR T2 inversion result.

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.
