Approximation of the Stieltjes Integral and Applications in Numerical Integration
Some inequalities for the Stieltjes integral and applications in numerical integration are given. The Stieltjes integral is approximated by the product of the divided difference of the integrator and the Lebesgue integral of the integrand.

Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Convergence of a collocation scheme for a retarded potential integral equation
Time domain boundary integral formulations of transient scattering problems involve retarded potential integral equations (RPIEs). Solving such equations numerically is both complicated and computationally intensive, and numerical methods often prove to ...

Condition number estimates for combined potential boundary integral operators in acoustic scattering
We study the classical combined field integral equation formulations for time-harmonic acoustic scattering by a sound soft bounded obstacle, namely the indirect formulation due to Brakhage-Werner/Leis/Panic, and the direct formulation associated with the

This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Efficient numerical methods based on integral transforms to solve option pricing problems [PDF]
Philosophiae Doctor - PhDIn this thesis, we design and implement a class of numerical methods (based on integral transforms) to solve PDEs for pricing a variety of financial derivatives.

On the numerical inversion of Laplace transforms
Three frequently used methods for numerically inverting Laplace transforms are tested on complicated transforms taken from the literature. The first method is a straightforward application of the trapezoidal rule to Bromwich's integral. The second method,

Multilevel Evaluation of Multidimensional Integral Transforms with Asymptotically Smooth Kernels [PDF]
In many practical applications of numerical methods a substantial increase in efficiency can be obtained by using local grid refinement, since the solution is generally smooth in large parts of the domain and large gradients occur only locally.

Many patients with urothelial cancer do not benefit from treatment with pembrolizumab, while at risk of severe side effects. Changes in the levels of circulating tumor DNA early during treatment, measured by a simple and affordable assay that can be easily implemented in the clinic, can be used as a prognostic tool to identify these patients.

INTEGRAL TRANSFORMS WITH THE HOMOTOPY PERTURBATION METHOD AND SOME APPLICATIONS [PDF]
This paper applies He's homotopy perturbation method to compute a large variety of integral transforms. As illustration, the paper gives special attention to the Esscher transform, the Fourier transform, the Hankel transform, the Mellin transform, the ...
